Has anyone started watching this show yet ? I started it on Saturday night and Iam already up to episode 8 .It is that awesome and I have not had this much fun watching a show since Stranger things season 2 ended .Its on Youtube Red and it’s a subscription service which sucks but for this show its worth it to me since iam a huge Karate Kid Fan .William Zabka is great again as Johnny and Ralph Macchiao is awesome as always .Had a chance to meet these guys a few times at conventions over the years and they are really cool guys and both from NY and huge NY sports fans which is cool also .Anyways great show can’t wait to watch the last 3 episodes over the weekend ..
I didn't plan on watching anything more than the first two free episodes, but they were so good that I signed up for YouTube Red and binge-watched the whole first season.

about where Season 2 is headed?
Well Johnny is clearly regretting his teaching methods. LaRusso is going to open a karate Class with Robby and his daughter as the prized pupils. Maybe Miguel's nerdy friend joins LaRusso.
I think Johnny will join LaRusso and find balance, but Miguel will remain with Cobra Kai. Also, Johnny will become the Sensai of Muyagi Do Karate, because lets face it, Daniel has a car dealership empire to run.

Without spoiling anything, that would be an interesting turn of events, considering how the first season ended.
I heard some rumors that Sean Kanan may be brought in for the 2nd season. Don't know how credible they are, though.

Johnny will eventually join LaRusso at some point probably by bringing Johnny and Robby together. What happens with Creasy (spelling?). Johnny owns Cobra Kai and is here really going to allow this man back into it? I think he will for some reason and that will temporary ruin any goodwill between LaRusso and Johnny as LaRusso will think that he hasn't changed.
See my post above about the Sean Kanan rumors.
I could see her showing up in season 2. I really hope that they don't start bringing back every character from the three movies. Creasy is fine but the other guys like Terry Silver and Barnes would be too much IMO. They had a very nice blend of nostalgia sprinkled into season one. I hope they don't begin to force it in season 2.
I was talking with my youngest nephew about it, who was a little kid when the first movie came out on VHS. I bought him a Karate Kid action figure for his birthday (and I used to goof on him when he was little, saying "Marc, do karate," after which he'd start chopping and kicking the air).
Anyway, in addition to the 80's stuff, there was some fun ribbing of us older folks, with the social media jibes for example. Again, a good job by the writers.
Oh yeah...and Courtney Henggeler is a total smokeshow.

sure Elizabeth Shue was going to make an appearance.
She was too busy doing that awful Piranha remake lol
She has been in some clunkers over the years, no doubt. Have you seen Hamlet 2? (Don't waste your time if you haven't). Recently, I've noticed her in a few supporting roles in some decent movies. Off the top of my head, she was the mother in Chasing Mavericks and Steve Carrell's wife in Battle of the Sexes.
Oh yeah...and Courtney Henggeler is a total smokeshow.
Yes she certainly is as is Miguel's mom.

Yup. I hope she and Johnny get together.
But my favorite character is Miguel's grandmother. She has some of the best lines.

Isn't Sheldon's twin sister on a few episodes of The Big Bang Theory too?
Now she's gone from playing the Hot Sister to playing a MILF, lol.
I don't tweet. What does he say?
Its Kreese.

confirms that he is probably 99% going to be in the next season.
I don't tweet. What does he say?
Check out his Twitter page below. His image is now a Cobra Kai Logo, and he has pictures posted with Kreese..
Terry Silvers on the other hand is all political bullshit. I don't see any reason why he couldn't make an appearance of some sort.
Side note, I looked up the type of Karate Miyagi teaches, and it was founded by a Japanese person named Miyagi. Never realized that before.
Sean Kanan - ( New Window )
I'm going out on a limb and saying Kreese owns the rights to Cobra Kai Karate, so Johnny either has to role with Kreese or leave.

if Sean Kenan is going to be on then I think next season will see Creasy and Kenan force out Johnny from Cobra Kai. Johnny will then fall into a drunken depression until he is saved by LaRusso and Robby and then he joins Miyagi Do. Miguel will remain in Cobra Kai until the end where he sees what he has become and decides to switch over.

That's what I was thinking as well.
Would love to see Chozen come back. How would anyone but Daniel know how to reach him though? Would he be bad or good?

Hell, bring em all back - Bobby, Dutch , Tommy, and have Chozen fly in from Okinawa.

Facebook. Duh.
Well shit... if YOU liked it... I'm definitely checking it out! LOL!

I mean no one but Daniel really knows about Chozen, so Cobra Kai wouldn't know to even contact him.
However, one way to incorporate him would be to use him as an example of going from the dark side to the light side. At the end of Karate Kid 2 he came to senses and flipped sides.

It's corny in spots, but overall it is a nice mixture of nostalgia, comedy, and drama, flipping the roles of the characters from the original (Johnny as the outcast loser, Daniel as the successful glamor boy) while not actually changing the basic nature of the characters. Johnny's still pretty much a dick, Daniel is still whiny.
Well shit... if YOU liked it... I'm definitely checking it out! LOL!
Yeah, well, just wait until the Cobra Kai face off against the team from Va. Tech.

Check it out - Yuji Okumoto and his family own a restaurant in Seattle. He's still acting, though.

He had a very small part in last night's episode of New Girl.

(One more thing: In Cobra Kai, Johnny ends up having dinner with Miguel and his mother and his grandmother one evening. While there, Johnny asks Miguel’s mother why they left Ecuador. Miguel’s mom mentions that, after she got pregnant with Miguel, she learned the truth about what her husband did for a living. She doesn’t say much more beyond that, other than that Miguel’s dad is “a very bad man” and that they don’t have anything to do with him. In 1989’s Karate Kid III, there’s a part where Terry Silver, the movie’s main bad guy and a sleazy businessman with lax views on where people should be allowed to dump hazardous waste, makes an offhand comment about Borneo. I’m calling it right now: In a future season, it’s going to eventually be revealed that Terry Silver is Miguel’s father
I love this shit. It's General Hospital, circa 1982, all over again...with fighting.

Fantastic villain.
I want to see Daniel teach more Miyga moves. Like the crane, the drum move, and whatever the focus move is called.
Daniel's bully shows up while he's hanging out with a girl and kicks Daniel in the stomach...that's cute, but how about Daniel's bully shows up while Daniel is on his first date and kicks her in thew stomach!
