LOL. Kurt Warner Contemplated Returning This Season

FatMan in Charlotte : 5/9/2018 10:09 am
In the "Well now I know why he sounds delusional sometimes" vein, Kurt Warner reportedly contemplated making a return to the NFL.

I really can't tell if this guy just likes the attention or actually does some of the things he talks about.

Geez! - ( New Window )

It could be called Drama Whores.
It could be called The one Upper.

The funny thing is

he was supposedly mad about not getting MNF deal and now hints that he wants to play (or would consider it).

He was done 10 years ago.. It is time to move on buddy.
I can't keep it to myself any longer.

I also am contemplating playing in the NFL this season.
Saw this a few days ago and thought about posting it...

He doesn't get enough sh-t for this throw.

Instead of going into halftime of the Superbowl up ten points, 17-7, they go into the half losing by four, 14-10.

Honestly, probably one of the biggest momentum swings all time in the Superbowl, after they kicked the Steelers ass most of the first half.

I'm pretty sure Steelers were the ones up 3 when the pick-6 occurred.
Nevermind...

I still think the Redskins vs the Raiders one was
Semipro Lineman : 5/9/2018 11:44 am : link
worse because it was on the opposite end of the field.

Quote:
For one brief instant at the end of the half, the Redskins' offensive genius lapsed into buffoonery. Raiders punter had rolled his kick dead at the Washington 12 and only 12 second remained. The Raiders led, 14-3.

The Redskins' offense was struggling. Gibbs opted not to run out the clock. He opted not to throw deep, perhaps since cornerback Hayes stood 45 yards downfield, protecting against the big play.

Instead, Theismann dropped back into the end zone and threw a swing pass to running back Joe Washington in the flat.

The ball never reached Washington. Squirek leaped in front of him at the five-yard line for the interception, then ran into the end zone for the 21-3 touchdown.

certainly didn't do Warner any favors by putting his mind in danger with those protection schemes he used.

It’s preposterous to think he would still be able to play 7-8 years later, but i absolutey can identify with the competior in him believing he still can, given he was never really shown the cold hard fact that he cant with his own eyes. Anyone who cant see where he is coming from on some level has probably never competed in anything. Yes he’s delusional but that can come along with it

I agree he doesn't get enough shit for this throw. I also think it was the biggest play in SB history. I also love to watch Fitzgerald on that play. He didn't make the tackle but man, pure hustle.

A very good point that I'm surprised you of all people brought up.

Ok... no I'm not. But it's been a while since I've had a chance to insult ya Coach and I figured I'd better take my shot while I can. Always good to see ya sir.

81_Great_Dane : 5/9/2018 2:17 pm : link
He might be able to read defenses, drop back and even pass, but at that age, it'd take him a month to recover from the hits he'd take in a game. That's what finally got Jeff Feagles -- at some point you stop being able to bounce back from workouts and hits.
For 30 million per year, I would give it a try.

Still butthurt about losing the PA primary and the Trump tweets?
Don't laugh
JohnF : 5/9/2018 6:29 pm : link
(well, maybe laugh!), but I think he'd be perfect as a one year placeholder for the Jets.

I can't see the Jets starting Darnold, but Bridgewater is iffy going into the season...who knows if his knee will be ever healthy. Long shot for this to happen, since they probably go to McCown (though that's probably a worst option IMO than Warner). And Warner likely was trolling in that interview.

I remember there was a flag on the play so I thought it was for one of the six penalties I saw Pittsburgh committed on the run back. It turned out it was a personal foul on the left tackle before the ball was thrown. Typical NFL reffing when it comes to the Steelers. The only thing missing on that play was a NHL referee ignoring a Penguin hitting someone in the nuts with his stick.
Geez..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/9/2018 9:59 pm : link
in looking at that replay, if they called a PF on the left tackle, that's worse than the phantom defensive holding from Hamilton.

Meanwhile, you can see Cards getting pushed in teh back throughout the play
I found the play on YouTube.
St. Jimmy : 5/9/2018 10:28 pm : link
It was a personal foul face mask on number 74 who looking at the rosters is Reggie Wells who was the left guard. When they called the personal foul I thought, ok that is even better, offsetting penalties, but no nothing was called on the Steelers. In addition to the blocks in the back you mentioned, Kurt Warner was being blocked in front of Harrison and he fell face first to the ground with the defender. The guy pulls him down by his jersey. Of course the refs were probably 15 yards behind the play by that time. Superbowl X: was an absolute sham because of officiating. Superbowl XLII was just as bad.

I seem to recall XLII being one of the better officiated games, not sure what you are getting at there.
