He seems like a real nice kid that is looking forward to getting to work. He is a MONSTER of a man. Made me get psyched for the season so I thought I would share.
That and he looks like the youngest thirty year old I have ever seen.
There were two guys I thought the Giants might have a shot at drafting - Nate Solder and Corey Liuget. Well, wouldn't you know it, both went right before the Giants picked.
So, to Nate Solder, welcome aboard...better late than never.
As for Liuget, I think we may have found his clone in B.J. Hill.
... when Erik Flowers wins his left tackle job back
(obviously kidding but wish I was serious)
I get that you're kidding but how could you wish to be serious? The ship on Flowers has already sailed. While I wish him well (especially this year) the Giants have a multi-year commitment to Solder and the likelihood that Flowers will be a Giants player in 8 months is next to zero, ESPECIALLY if he outplays Solder.
I'm really hoping that even if Flowers plays better than expectations that he does not beat out Solder, as that means we'll have really made a mess of things.

Dan - here's why I wish i was serious...
Flowers just turned 24. He's 6'6, 325. Would it really be that bad to see him go through a career renaissance, bring some competition to the position and become a staple at left tackle for the next decade? Not saying that I am at all expecting to happen or that Solder is not an easy guy to root for (I happen to like Solder a lot). It's not like the light bulb going on for an offensive lineman hasn't happened before (see Richie Incognito).
I said I wish I was serious simply because it sucks to give up on a first round pick who's so young (that means you too Eli Apple). Hell, why wouldn't I want Flowers to provide competition on the line and see his career as a Giant somehow salvaged? Hope he's a Pro Bowl right tackle this year and plays so well that he wants to push Solder at LT in 2019. Would that be the worst thing in the world?
I want Flowers and Apple to quickly grow up and succeed
to make the switch to RT and become a key part of the OL but they have a new coach with a completely new offensive scheme and he chooses to stay in miami instead of being there to learn the new scheme after not living upto his draft status?
he is going out of his way to burn bridges with the team by not being there. by the time the manditory camp practices start he will already be behind the curve so its looking more like OG or bust for him as a result
talked about his Solder's leadership abilities. That is desperately needed. Not only did the Giants lack OL talent but there hasn't been a leader on the OL in a few years
RE: I want Flowers and Apple to quickly grow up and succeed
Quick someone call the hobby shop and ask for Hash
Did he give you any insight to anything?
Someone who has been a Giants' fan since 1966 probably can get a pass on that.

Hope the little guy pulls through.

At the same time, I get why some want them gone after the numerous awful attitude related incidents.

At least there is a new sheriff in town .... and he looks like he got off to a good start (digging us out of the mess). ?
