Dustin Fowler, one of the players the Yankees traded for Sonny Gray, will be on the A's roster when they visit Yankee Stadium this Friday. I was really looking forward to seeing this kid play major league baseball last year and felt really bad for him when he ruptured his patella. Prior to his injury, I felt that Fowler had the chance to be an above average player. He still may be. In 30 games with Triple-A Nashville, he's hitting .310 with three homers, 16 RBI, seven doubles, and eight steals. The steals impress me, given his injury. I wish him all the best.
Yankee fans are much quicker to shove gardy aside then the actual men in position to make the decisions. The Yankees will ride with Gardner the entire year regardless of his offensive statistics. He brings gold glove defense as well. If anything it would have been Clint not Fowler vying for time in left.
That’s the one position for which I feel as if we don’t have a great long-term plan. Hicks for now, Florial in a few years, I guess.
