NFT: Giant's Access Blue

I understand that the Giants aren't a TV network and don't necessarily put in too much effort into this show but come on... We are two weeks removed from the draft and in the middle of the rookie camp and I just watched an entire show about the 2007 DBs??? Give us something about what's going on over the last few weeks! And yes, I know there is more than enough info available on line but this is the Giants own production so they should be able to do something (anything)better than this retread they threw out tonight. Just my two cents.
Agree''

I used to look forward to the show. Not so much lately.
TV production is expensive,

and like a lot of things, it's: Good, fast and cheap -- choose any two. And with the Giants, I'm sure cheap is a given. And I don't mean that as a criticism. You'd need a bunch of shooters, producers and interviews, and editors. Editors probably working around the clock. When my unit has to do video on fast turnaround, we have to engage good editors for long hours. So does any video operation.

I don't know how big or skilled the Giants' video production unit is, but I doubt they have the resources to shoot, write and edit a long show about rookie minicamp in two days. As you say, they're not a TV network. I expect that the pieces we're seeing online are about their limit.

But I bet you'll see a long-is, well-produced show about the rookies and the minicamps in a week or two.

Yeah, I get all that, my ex wife and I lived in LA and she is still in video production. Even if they put a compilation of the videos the have on Giants.com together for the first ten minutes of the show (and that can't be too hard, we've been seeing the rookies arriving at the facility, pieces fro their press conferences, etc for the last two weeks) I would be more satisfied. A program tonight with 30 minutes about the 2007 DBs (which we've seen 20 times now) is a pretty weak effort. A HS A?V club could get SOMETHING together. Just a bad look for an NFL team that has plenty of money to throw at something a little better than that. Obviously not a big deal, just a waste of time and DVR space I guess LOL
Nothing is worse than the post game show.

I mean you are the fucking New York Football Giants, get the show right. It is almost embarrassing to watch. That's not to say I watch any other teams post game show, but it is weak.

Couldn't agree more. And it's not like they don't have the cash to do it better. Not to mention, if you do these shows better, more people will watch, better ratings, better advertising dollars. I don't get it.
Its embarassing

How much better the Eagles prop up their team. Aside from having an FM station that covers them for like 5 hours in the afternoon and a show on the local NBC Sportsnet at least several times a week, they have tons of former players on the pay roll talking about the team....just saturating the city with Eagles news.

I watch it religiously and I agree it’s awful but hey it’s all we got
Yeah, they do a lot of repetitive shit
Anakim : 5/13/2018 1:39 pm : link
And when they don't, it's garbage shit like "50 Yards with..." and "Check Out My Giants Fan Cave!"

On another note, more Emma Kaptein, please

I've been living in the DC market for 14 years now and it's the same here with the Redskins coverage. It's everywhere on the TV and radio stations.

This past football season, I spent living near Dallas for work. Same thing, Cowboys coverage is wall to wall. In fact it starts once you step foot in the Dallas airport. Cowboys theme everywhere.

Yet the Giants local media coverage is almost laughable compared to the rest of the division. I blame that on ownership.
Are you guys watching Big Blue Kickoff Live?
Tony in Tampa : 5/14/2018 6:52 am : link
It's basically the same content from Giants.com and while not extensive they have a one hr show most days that's taped live hosted by Schmelk and Dotino or Feagles where they take calls. I access it via the Giants channel on Roku and they also have other 30 sec features and quick interviews. Again mostly Giants.com stuff but it's current.

I will say there was not a lot of in-depth reporting on this past weekend's rookie camp but then again it's rookie camp and most to the footage is limited.
