aren't the best way to judge but this was a good one.
Ideally we have THJR coming off the bench. I'd rather start Burke over THJR and have SGA and FN rotating guarding the wings. Then go after a SF next offseason. Link - ( New Window )
but I think Mikal and Frank may wind up being pretty similar, too. Mikal's shooting percentages were worse than Frank's at the same age, and look how far he's come. Sexton and Miles Bridges are a little more complementary to the pieces we already have. Let's face it, whomever we draft is gonna be our second or third best player the second he shakes Adam Silver's hand. We'll fit any of them in.
I don't think Frank's handle is comparable to SGA's.
I think Frank is going to be a very good 2 way NBA player. He will work hard to become better. His form on his shot is nice, a little long but nice. If Kanter opts out and Knicks are not smart enough to just offer one year deals to fill the cap space, I would consider giving Marcus Smart a deal if you can get him at a reasonable price.
with the way they shamelessly tanked. They wound up with the sixth and seventh picks, respectively. We're at nine. It's really not that big of a difference. Be thankful we actually have draft picks - we'll only get younger and more talented over the next couple of years.
The bulls won a bunch of games when they had Mirotic and Portis healthy and not beating up each other. Mirotic and Portis both had stretches of excellent BBall.
told me the Knicks paid extra close attention to Zhaire Smith towards the end of the season. I wonder if he's this years Mitchell (in terms of helium).

Yeah I just watched some of his videos on YouTube and it doesnt look bad but in his workout it looked weird
and his FT% is OK but still troublesome. Haven't seen him as much as the other guys but if he has a shaky shot and isn't a great ball handler those are certainly red flags on offense.
Zhaire Smith is an excellent defender, too, which the Knicks
ball handling and shooting are the two biggest separators of stars from the rest of the pack (aside from big man, but even that's changing; if you aren't gobert or deandre you need those 2 to enter the elite ranks). Especially for guards. Obviously athletcism matters but there are ton of great athletes. And if you can't shoot you better be an absolute (Greek) Freak. Giannis isn't a non shooter either.
I know what Jerry West said about expecting stars with later picks but these are traits I'd look for at any point in the draft. Ball handling isn't a trait where I see players transform dramatically once youre in the NBA. Kawhi is really the only that I can think that took it to another level. And if you can't handle, you better be like Klay as a shooter. Which is why I can get behind Bridges (who also has a decent enough handle to take advantage of mismatches and get mid range separation).
I don't think they would though - if they're packaging those two picks I'd think they'd want to move higher than nine, unless someone they LOVE happens to drop to us.
It's possible I'm finally burnt out by the negativity surrounding this franchise for the past two decades, or knowing this season will be another dud. Having the 9th pick isn't getting me excited.
Pretty good article comparing Dotson to Josh Richardson...
The premise is that Fizdale will build the kind of system Spoelstra has in Miami, and be drawn to the same kind of athletes. Dotson and Frank fit the bill, Mudiay and Burke do not.
Quote:
Damyean Dotson, dubbed the other rookie this year as a result of the limelight given to lottery pick Ntilikina, is the other guy that could fit Fizdales blueprint. There are a lot of similarities between Dotson and Richardson. Both 6-foot-6, both second-rounders picked 44th and 40th, respectively, both spent four years in college and were drafted on their 3-and-D potential. Dotson (38 percent, 6.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists) shot better than Richardson (32 percent, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists) from three over their college careers, and was an elite rebounder for a guard, whilst Richardson had the edge as a passerbut both were clearly 3-and-D archetypes, nonetheless.
Random article I know, but I'm a believer in Dotson and hope he doesn't get buried. KnicksWall - ( New Window )

Trae Young measured a quarter-inch under 62, 177.8 lbs. Roughly Chris Paul size, wingspan about 1.25 inches shorter at 6-3.
to move up in next years lottery. I kind of like this new Knicks NBA. You know before the season starts they have no chance, no hope and will be in the lottery mix. With the new rules next year they only need to be one of the 3 worst teams to have an equal chance to win the Lottery trophy. Is next year over yet?

How much is he making from Real Madrid? Id much rather be living in Madrid than Sacramento. What are the rules if hes drafted but refuses to play? Can he wait it out to become a UFA in a few years?
Trae Young has bust written all over to me. Ill be furious if the Knicks draft him.
.. he likely said good looking prospects and we will explore everyone in this class
Then he and other nyg scouts SCOUTED those players, titans / bears moved up and BBI got the vapors.
Not buying it - when you get jumped TWICE like they did - it's because you were talking too much, which Reese was. You do know even making a comment like "good looking prospects" is pure speculation, but the getting jumped twice is fact.
Dude, teams are jumping ahead because they aren't stupid. They don't know anything for a fact just like any of the so called insiders don't know anything for a fact. Teams aren't dense, they see the players that are rated where they are and they see the teams in need for that player and they pounce. Even if the Titans HEARD from a reliable source (horse shit) that the Giants DIDN'T like that player, they would be nuts not to move up.
Whatever gets you through the night. Just remember the best trade in NYG history was made on the basis that EVERYONE knew Ernie loved Eli. How'd that work out?
Doesn't matter. I don't care about this loose lips crap. I think that along with the not tanking horse crap are not what is wrong with this franchise.
Philly needed 6 fucking years to hit on two picks. If you're bad, fine, be bad...but to sit here and blast a team because the 7 players that played actually played hard and well? That's shit.
Anyone else see the video of the Kings front office going nuts with the lottery results? I get it that they jumped up 5 spots but they were acting like they won the championship. This is a team that has picked in the top 10 for the last 10 years and dont even own their pick next year.

Not talking high on the Kings but it's their highest pick in 40 years. They picked 5 or 4 in the past decade (cousins and evans). There's no main piece there and they have a lot of players that can be solid role players/starters, they're just too dumb to package them for a bigger fish.
We need somebody who can create with his own shot, not someone
who can hit open three's or slam home lobs. I don't think the ability to create is something you can develop. It's nice to dream about having a 3-and-D guy who may be able to develop an offensive game, but that rarely happens. And it would be laughable if that's what the Knicks target. It'd be like looking for Ariza before you even have Harden or Paul.
Porter/Sexton/Young, in that order for me.
Porter Jr. seems like it would be a home run swing, which is what we
Ideally we have THJR coming off the bench. I'd rather start Burke over THJR and have SGA and FN rotating guarding the wings. Then go after a SF next offseason.

I have no idea what this stat is, but its completely worthless if its saying Frank has a better handle or runs a better PNR than CP3.
Frank needs to make significant improvements in ball handling and finishing.

The ok only reason I asked, was because in atlanta it blew up when they took away his GM respinsibilities

17 or 10 years ago means nothing to me. You should try that out.
Superstar is to strong...
I see Draymond type with a little less defense and a little more offense, that versatile player
