1. Tanaka vs.Gonzalez.
2. Clint Frazier could be seeing his first action tonight as he has been called up to the Yanks. Yanks want an additional player for the Nats series given they are playing in a NL park with no DH. No word on who is being sent down/out.
Yankees News - (
New Window )
1. Hicks (CF)
2. Judge (RF)
3. Stanton (LF)
4. Sanchez (C)
5. Didi (SS)
6. Austin (1B)
7. Andujar (3B)
8. Tanaka (P)
9. Torres (2B)
Plus Stanton is batting .457 against lefties with about a 1.100 OPS....crazy numbers.
Ive always liked that approach. Not an exorbitantly compelling reason for why, but just always loked the idea of the 9 and 1 spot stringing hits together.
But yes....stupid national league.
I view it as kind of a test run for Gleyber batting leadoff, which he probably will in some innings as/when Tanaka makes the last out. But yeah, stupid NL. It's not very exciting watching pitchers wave at 3 pitches.
Makes sense. He is a JAG. And Cole looked real good in a high leverage spot the other night. Thought Hale could have won out over Cole, due to the length he can give. But apparently Yanks like Cole more than Hale.
That's why the current development of the prospects is so amazing. Every guy that gets called up contributes to the team. A few years ago most of them went down the bust track.
Brilliant batting order comes back to bite Boone in the ass.
deadline deal almost has to happen for a starter...
Yeah, if he does not start hitting...
Bad AB by Torres too.
One of the best players in the league in April. And somehow, one of the worst through the first 2 weeks of May. Not even an exaggeration.
he is wildly inconsistent.
really outside of sevy, our SP is shaky. not to sure i trust anyone after sevy come playoff time
yes, i said that on other game thread. we need to give 2-3 quality players for a top end of rotation guy
The Yankees are very inconsistent with balls and strikes. This is an annoying game. This DB and his BP curve ball.
Radar shows it thin and sparse just outside DC. Looks like it will be quick.

If they get lucky there's a chance the really bad stuff to their north misses DC and goes out to sea to the east. Then they can get the game in

Correction, it would go to eastern Maryland and Delaware first, east of DC
Bases loaded no outs and can’t even get a run in. Austin delivers a sac fly to tie it
