Was extremely exciting, but hardly felt like a football game with the non stop scoring. BS ending! We got hosed and all the NO fans knew it. Whoever scheduled the 12 pm (central time) kickoff the day after Halloween in New Orleans should be fired. Great city and great fans though.
and I will never forget Bob Papa's call after Spiller scored the tying TD.
"Jonathan Casillas was there in the right spot, but he is just athletically not able to make the play"
And this guy stayed on the roster for TWO MORE YEARS after this. You can look at the entire breakdown here and read the names of the defense Reese put together: Meriwether, Hosley, Wade, McBride, even Kennard in coverage! Link - ( New Window )

The fact that team was actually in playoff contention (and might have made it if not for a number of blown leads late in games) is truly a testament to how good Eli and Odell were that season.
There are many players that played "key" roles on that team, especially on defense, that never played in the NFL again after that season.

What a horrible job of roster construction.
Also Coughlin trying to keep a terrible roster in winning condition using tape and super-glue.
running around in that secondary like chickens with their heads cut off...
Here is the amazing thing when you look at those names. When we talk about the failure of Reese's player evaluation and selections, we tend to focus on the top draft picks. We also have acknowledged that he was heavy handed at the DB position. In fact, that was supposed to be his area of expertise. So, when you see a lineup like this you have to ask yourself... how the fuck did this happen?
Not too far behind his inability to pick olineman, Reese & Co.
didn't exactly light the fire on selecting CBs even though we invested heavily in the position.
Although they played plenty of games as high picks, guys like Will Allen, Will Peterson, Aaron Ross, Prince Amuk and now Eli Apple (TBD) were far from shut-down corner guys. They seemed to be decent but not sure I can classify any of them as good.
Webster had some really solid years though after a rough start. And I always liked Terrell Thomas. Those two are probably the best.
We had to tap free agency to find DRC and Jenkins...
Two face mask penalties, and yet the refs somehow only spotted one of them.

I had almost forgotten him and you have to mention his name!
