So much for Richie Incognito being an option..

DanMetroMan : 5/23/2018 1:54 pm
Free agent OG Richie Incognito was involved in an altercation at a Florida gym on Wednesday and is being held by police for an involuntary psychiatric evaluation.

It's called the Baker Act, which is an involuntary mental evaluation. Incognito allegedly threw a dumbbell at another man in a Boca Raton gym this morning "for no apparent reason" after first throwing a tennis ball at the gym-goer. Incognito was allegedly "rambling about the government and screaming at the other man to 'get off my f*cking playground'." This is the second time Incognito has been held under the Baker Act, with the first coming in 2014

Hart routinely played as if he had just been struck in the head with a barbell during warmups.

ahh not really. A friend's son (16 or 17 y/o) was at church youth group meeting (his usual group) a month or so after his mother died after a prolonged bout with cancer and said something about being depressed. The youth counselor "Baker Act" him without notifying the kid's father. He was held for 3 days and his father could not get him released until the 72 hours was up.
So no, it does not take much.
A yes ... the Stephen Baker act

He's had some consistent support around here, despite all the warning signs.

I get wanting to win football games, but this dude's an effing pyscho when we don't need any.
I guess it could be..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/24/2018 8:14 am : link
CTE, but he's had issues since he first played, even at Nebraska.

As a redshirt freshman, he was nearly kicked out of school and had several on the field incidents. He was accused multiple times of spitting on opponents during games and even harassing his own players in practice.

The athletic trainer at the time said he'd never been afraid of a player before until Incognito came around. Tried to get the staff to have him evaluated.

Guys had serious issues for a long time. Doubt that is CTE - more like mental illness.
He clearly is Bi-polar
BigBlueDownTheShore : 5/24/2018 2:38 pm : link
and is going through a Manic episode. Probably due to the stress of retirement/being let go. I'm not being sarcastic either.

It's very common to believe people are spying on you and the government out to get you type stuff when they are manic.
I remember reading through the texts...

Not worth signing for the Giants

Or, what "Victor in CT" said ... way before me.
I'm surprised
chopperhatch : 5/28/2018 12:36 am : link
nothing has ever happened between Suh and Incognito when they played in the exact same division for the exact same duration of years. And Nebraska football pretty went back to back on two of the most unstable players in a decade with Incognito and Suh having successive tenures at NE. That would be a great fight.
The fact so many people immediately point to roid
bhill410 : 5/28/2018 12:03 pm : link
Rage as the reason for this is why mental health is in such a sorry state. Guy clearly is extremely sick and may have contributed to his condition by playing football. Hopefully he is able to get the help he needs and can mitigate any future manic episodes
Incognito: Sad
Percy : 5/30/2018 10:41 am : link
Clearly needs serious mental help and appopriate drugs. And that he's needed these for years. Very sad he seems not to be getting them. (True of all too many Americans, by the way. Where's our mental health system? Jailing these people when they lose it is not the answer.)
