Free agent OG Richie Incognito was involved in an altercation at a Florida gym on Wednesday and is being held by police for an involuntary psychiatric evaluation.
It's called the Baker Act, which is an involuntary mental evaluation. Incognito allegedly threw a dumbbell at another man in a Boca Raton gym this morning "for no apparent reason" after first throwing a tennis ball at the gym-goer. Incognito was allegedly "rambling about the government and screaming at the other man to 'get off my f*cking playground'." This is the second time Incognito has been held under the Baker Act, with the first coming in 2014
and in An Officer and a Gentleman. And in the TV show Crime Story.
Exactly what I thought too. He needs to retire for his own health. Sad what football does to a lot of these guys.
Hart routinely played as if he had just been struck in the head with a barbell during warmups.
ahh not really. A friend's son (16 or 17 y/o) was at church youth group meeting (his usual group) a month or so after his mother died after a prolonged bout with cancer and said something about being depressed. The youth counselor "Baker Act" him without notifying the kid's father. He was held for 3 days and his father could not get him released until the 72 hours was up.
So no, it does not take much.
Guy has a lot of demons and seems clearly under the spell of roid rage.

lol
What did he do in Buffalo that equates to being a "bad guy"?
No one was "supporting him". the idea was kicked around that maybe he was worth a look

his supporters here say he's worth signing.

He's had some consistent support around here, despite all the warning signs.
I get wanting to win football games, but this dude's an effing pyscho when we don't need any.
As a redshirt freshman, he was nearly kicked out of school and had several on the field incidents. He was accused multiple times of spitting on opponents during games and even harassing his own players in practice.
The athletic trainer at the time said he'd never been afraid of a player before until Incognito came around. Tried to get the staff to have him evaluated.
Guys had serious issues for a long time. Doubt that is CTE - more like mental illness.
It's very common to believe people are spying on you and the government out to get you type stuff when they are manic.

A police report filed in Florida after former Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito was taken into custody Wednesday said the NFL player showcased a "very erratic" speech pattern and thought the government had him under surveillance.
Please, we have a guy complaining about that all the time on Twitter and nobody has locked him up.

If Incognito just works on his delivery he could run.
I always think of the scene in "An Officer and a Gentleman" when he gets choked by Lou Gosset Jr. in the self-defense demonstration.
