Mets get Frazier and Swarzak back today (finally!!) and they are both desperately needed. Mets need to get back on track after the Cubs massacre. Good news is the SP has been great the last few turns and the lineup is getting some pieces back. Cespedes, Thor, and Flores could all be back for the Yankee series this weekend. One game at a time.... LGM!
He doesn’t want to, had to “prove” he was ready. Hasn’t ready, plenty of golf ;)

Not sure why but Cespedes will not play in any rehab games before being activated. Im guessing both are back by Friday.

our pen isn't any better s o no point with the hook

Would be nice to see him go deeper but you gotta understand the hook with as bad as the offense has been.

The pen added two major pieces tonight. It's much better.
The Mets are a bad team. They just aren’t good

Bats are just ice cold. I mean, it’s only June 5th.
So disappointed with him this season

Can we send down the rest of the team also?

When you start talking about sending Bruce down.
And they don’t have shit in the minors to help
Unfuckingbelievable.

Do we really play Yankees 4 times this weekend ? Oh god
Can’t wait to hear how the Mets should trade Degrom to NY 300 fucking times this weekend
Sidenote: not that it matters much, but how did Callaway not pinch run Reyes for Bruce in the 9th? I'm getting close to saying they should can him and bring back Terry to try to spark a 2nd half run. Seriously. Might as well give the next GM a clean slate and try to salvage the season somehow.
Cespedes is getting paid 25 fucking million dollars every year. Bruce is coming off a fine year and just got paid. Conforto was our only all star last year and was the guy we were supposed to build around.
Holy shit..

That's all fair, the only guy who deserves a slight break is Conforto since he was coming off a major surgery. I've always thought of Bruce as a pretty reliable slugger but there's no excuse for his performance this year. Cespedes I don't know who or what to blame. He never really had injuries before coming here. Just unlucky like they were with Wright.

Fuck all of them. If you looked at the offense heading in those are your three guys that should have at least carried you somewhat, especially if Conforto's shoulder was healthy.

I just feel when times are tough you have to lean on your main guys and those are the three you would point to and they are killing us right now. Yes, we thought the offense might get better later in the year if Rosario improved and maybe somebody like Smith took over 1B... Yes Frazier and Cabrera should chip in even though they are more secondary players... But man... Our core has been downright awful this year or hurt once again. I dont know if Conforto should get a pass or not anymore. He fell off a cliff at times in 2016 too so part of me thinks this is just one really long prolonged slump. Either way, if he's been medically cleared he needs to get his shit together or go to Vegas. Im sick of it. We are a third of a way through the season and the pitching seems to have finally gotten it together. This is brutal.
This is Conforto's third season. He already broke out and proved what he's capable of last year. He's also the highest draft pick of the entire Sandy era until yesterday. No excuses. Thor and deGrom are on rookie contracts making less than Vargas but nobody is excusing them if they suddenly went to shit.
Cespedes - has been injury prone for the previous 2 years
Not saying there were easy answers or alternatives. Just that knowing the flaws with those 2, not to mention Nimmo/Lagares as depth, Bruce wasn't a great choice to go multi-year with. Frasier made a lot more sense even though he hasn't lit the world on fire either.
The scary thing is that even worse than what's on the field Callaway looks in over his head.
Callaway was supposed to change the culture but same old same old.
I have been a fan for over fifty years and will always remain a fan but man they can be hard to root for at times. This current team is just not very fun to root for and it goes beyond the losing. The George Bamberger managed teams were awful but there were likable players who still made it fun to watch them and root for them. Other than Nimo and deGrom nobody currently really falls into that category for me on this team.
Things will look differently if they put together a little win streak but watching this team night in; night out is tough right now.
The pitching has rounded into shape now so I just dont really know what we would have done with the Bruce money. Nimmo and Lagares have always been injury prone also so not having Bruce right now doesnt really solve anything. Lagares still gets injured and Nimmo still has gotten a shit ton of playing time regardless because Cespedes is always out. If Bruce is hitting right now, the thought process works out great and he might even have replaced AGone at 1B.
I guess we could have gone after a long term 1B or re-signed Duda but with Smith/Alonso on the horizon and Bruce's ability to play some 1B Im not sure I can fault Sandy on that one either.
My dad has had a really rough year, my gram died unexpectedly a couple months ago and he still isn't climbing out of the funk he's in, I want to take him to citi field on friday or saturday and get real good seats, just not sure which ones are the best value and what each club area includes.
Thanks

Can't help you with seat advice but sorry for your loss.

Team definitely needs a spark. I still like the roster if they get Cespedes and Thor back this weekend (Thor is now confirmed). Baseball just sucks sometimes. Everybody is pressing and trying too hard. The mental part of the game can just be brutal. One guy heating up though can take the pressure off everyone and the floodgates can open in a second. It's such a slog having to go through this though.

Mook, the seats you’re looking for are above my pay grade, but there’s no real autopsies with the Citi field layout so you can probably just go on stubhub and get the expensive seats that are in the center in the field level and close to the field and you’ll do great.

Sorry for your loss. The link should explain the different club levels. I actually love going to the Porshe Grille for a 33 buck buffet. I think its a great deal. Especially if you are there during the day and want to do brunch. If the Delta 360 Sky club is on your ticket definitely check it out. All indoors but some really nice bars and lounges to duck out of the heat for a minute. There really are no bad seats IMO. Citifield is a beautiful park.

In smaller markets with lower expectations, players and teams can overachieve because they're swinging easy. Like the first season of Seinfeld, they have some time to find their way when nobody is paying that much attention before getting canceled. The Mets are a modestly funded sitcom that debuts in primetime with retread actors or understudies filling most of the roles. And they air in the same time slot as game of thrones (the yankees).
Again may not work anymore though.

It's been a while since I've been there by my favorite bang for the buck seats were behind home plate in the level that is connected to one of the clubs (Delta I think). They have seat service to bring you whatever you want from the options in the ballpark (including shake shack), an indoor bar area if it rains, and I'm pretty sure nicer bathrooms + easier entry into the stadium. I've sat in a bunch of spots and that was my favorite.
Everybody shit on me because they said I basically repeated what happened in the 2015 season to a T and lacked imagination. If I can dig up the post in the archives I will because it's uncanny so far. lol.
Now back to 2018, three games under .500 and free falling, 7 games out of first and in 4th place in the division. It might be better if we haven’t already seen how this story plays out, but we do. This season sucks. And it’s way worse than 2015.
And Cespedes can fuck off. Soft fucking player. If HE’S our clubhouse leader then it explains a lot.
Let's hope it has a similar outcome as 2015 but that wasnt what I was trying to say.
Im good. He sucks.

Wasn’t really directed at you. I’ve heard this a number of times over the past month and I just don’t necessarily agree. And it’s hard to draw a parallel only two months into the season. The only thing that’s the same is the quick start. We slowed down after that start but still remained above .500 and competitive. They were only under .500 for one single game the entire season.
Clearly a similar outcome would be great, but it’s improbable. Even 2015 was lucky as hell for the Mets. Whatever, maybe at some point these Mets players will pick up their skirts and actually learn to hit again.
An holy shit look at the Nats right now with Matt Adams/Reynolds at 1b. What about Jeremy Hellickson with a 2.28 ERA for a minor league deal. When you have a winning team players buy into the game.
Something just isn't right at the top.
What tires?
And luckily he had an easy 7th so they may be able to get him 1 more at bat in this one. The last 2 weeks has really been eerily similar to June 2015 when the starters literally had to do everything themselves.
Blaming the manager??? Casey Stengel couldn't win with this pathetic lineup! Since the 12-1 start the mets are 15 games under .500!

The mets are the only team that makes a 2-0 lead seem insurmountable!!!
