Weeks ago the Giants had 15 CB'S on the roster. They are down to 10. Any opinions, how the eight players behind Jenkins and Apple are ranked early on the depth chart.
Hopefully Grant Haley is good earlier rather than later.
At this moment we have no 3rd corner and nothing to back up the two starters......
Similar problem at S and FS.....two jags at FS and nothing to back up Collins....
That's the big difference with this 3-4 vs the 4-3, you're coming at them from every angle, QBs don't have a ton of time to do much so you can focus on front 7 and one havoc wreaking safety and get by with also rans as long as you have two solid starters.
is the only reliable CB. Apple obviously has talent, but last year as noted was a total disaster. Having to rely on him as the #2 CB is hardly ideal.
Gay has played well during the OTAs. Riley might have some promise. Grant and Davis are UDFA rookies, but have also looked good. I agree that a vet cut is also an option.
One of the bargain bin guys will probably emerge as quality depth but I don't see us surviving an injury or two during the season, it could be a huge problem. Our pass rush is a question mark too, along with the depth there. It's not the greatest cocktail so hopefully luck works in our favor.
I would thnk corner and WR are a couple of positions
that you could get some decent feedback on during these OTAs. It looks like the Giants have already made up their minds on some guys as they have already cut a few corners and WRs. I have a feeling that a couple of guys will step up through training camp to supply some depth at the position.
"- Bettcher looks and sounds the part of a football coach in every sense of the word. He speaks well and wasn't shy about the fact that he loves to bring pressure and that his scheme will feature 3/4 and 4/3 looks and could change from one play to the next. He made it clear that it's an aggressive, attacking, fly to the ball system. Seems like he's bringing more of a "risk/reward" than read-and-react/bend-but-don't break mindset. He pointed out that the there is a ton of competition in the secondary right now and a lot of talented guys at the CB and Safety spots fighting it out, which is a good thing."
So maybe there is more there than would be obvious.

At the moment it would appear that Gay will play slot.
Will have no problem handling the position, he played well the previous year, he had a bad year, like the rest of the team, he is a high first round pick from Ohio State, there is no reason to think he won't be good this season.
