I really enjoyed it.
You have to go to old town Riga - eat outside.
Do a tour - check out all of the "cats" at the top of the buildings . Visit the old church and take the creaky elevator to the top to check out the view.
Visit the "Occupation Museum".
I believe there is also some sort of out door market.
Not sure how far Tallinn, Estonia is, but that is worth a trip.
I find it noteworthy that one of Riga, Latvia's attractions is Â
If you are in architecture take a tour of art nouveau district. The central market is one of if not the largest in Europe. Its a bunch of old zeppelin hangers converted into a market which so much food its crazy. Found this bar/restaurant called Folkklubs ALA pagrabs ( locals refer to it as ala ) that was great. I also took a day trip to a bunch of castle such as Turaida Castle. You can pay for a tour or just take a city bus for realyl cheap and do the stuff on your own ( there is a ton of walking if you want to see all the castles and the famous cave )
out of all the capitals the three former Baltic states. The occupation museum is worth the look but its hard to give recommendations other than to go explore the old town section. If you were in Tallinn or Vilnius, I could make many more recommendations.
I am in Kaunas LT for the next month with my wife. Traveling to Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn is relatively cheap. Only been to Vilnius before. We're going to Palanga to take advantage of the nice weather this weekend.

The gentlemen clubs are top notch on talent in and around the city.
Most Latvians speak fluent English. Enjoy.
