Pat Shurmur told interesting story of visiting Giants as Eagles assistant coach once & stepping into room to watch 1pm NFL games w an older man. When Shurmur got up, the man tapped him on his knee & said “good luck today but not too much.” It was Wellington Mara

Some random notes: Eli says he’s throwing the ball down the field more often in this offense vs. McAdoo’s ... Eli joked that Will Hernandez “got in like five fights already, I like it.” Landon says he loves how D blitzes five every time, jokes Eli hates it cuz he can’t pick it up

John Mara said he didn't want to interfere with Dave Gettleman's & Pat Shurmur's evaluations of Eli Manning when he hired them. He let them independently evaluate and Gettleman/Shurmur said, "This guy can still play. We can still win with him." And Mara agreed

Good story I had never heard before: Eli Manning said after the famous Super Bowl XLII David Tyree helmet catch, Eli asked Tyree if he'd caught it, Tyree said yes. Manning wanted assurance & prodded Tyree: "Dave, you're a Christian, man. Tell me: did you catch it?!" Lol.

So funny: Eli Manning said he asked Tyree twice if he had caught it because WRs' first inclination is always to say they did. Eli said once Plaxico Burress claimed he had caught a pass "and the ball had bounced like four times. I told him you don't gotta lie to me" lol

Giants 2018 draft class was entertaining. Great quote: Will Hernandez said he was labeled just a "mauler" but UTEP played a gap scheme. Hernandez: "If we would have run more inside-outside zone, I'd have been the best inside zone guard in the draft." Saquon loved the swag

Nate Solder very likable, not afraid to joke about #Patriots. A fan tried to bait him asking difference btw blocking for the great Tom Brady and the more elite Eli Manning. Solder cracked: "Well (Eli) just makes a lot more plays behind me than Tom did." He was having fun. Relax.
