AAA
Dom 0-4, K (.227 last 10 despite 2 multi-hit games out of his last 4, awful season to this point)
D. Smith 2 innings 1 hit 0 runs 0 walks 0 k's (last 10 appearances 0 ER, 13 innings 13 k's, we should see him somewhat soon, walks still a concern)
Bautista 1 inning 0 hits 0 runs 2 walks 1 k
AA
McNeil HR, 2b, BB
Alonso 1-4, BB
Mazeika 1-3, 2 BB (.185 over his last 10 games
Ryan 1 inning 0 hits 0 runs 1 walk 1 k
A+
Gimenez 0-3, K, 2 SB
Paez 1-4, K
Lindsay 2-4, 2b, 2 k's (would be nice to see Lindsay turn it around. Despite the 2-4, he's hitting .219 over his last 10, along with Dom his season easily one of the biggest disappointments in the system)
Strom 0-2, 2 k's (hate to be cruel but he's been unbelievably bad following his hot start, last 10 games .067, .143 over his last 20 games)
Dimino 2-4, SB (100% not a knock on Gimenez but the fact Dimino, a catcher/1b with 21 steals coming into the season over 140 games now has 9 steals over 34 games I have to believe St. Lucie is simply hyper aggressive on the bases... they lead the league with 73, 2 more than Bradenton, 13 more than Jupiter and....59 more than Palm Beach)
Columbia
Gladu 1-4, 2b, BB
Tiberi 0-3, very disappointing first half... gotta hope it's related to his surgery last year otherwise... another Sandy stinker)
Which one is more likely to be elevated?
Vasquez 1-3, BB, K
Brodey 1-4, 2 k's
Manea 0-3
Cavallaro 7 innings 4 hits 2 runs 0 walks 9 k's (absurd he hasn't been promoted. Soon to be 23 year old with a funky delivery. Nothing gained leaving him in Columbia #Mets
DSL
Consuegra 0-4, BB, 2 steals
Dominguez 4 no hit innings 3 walks 6 k's
Regnault 0-2, 2 BB, K
Salazar 2-4, 2 k's
Diaz 2-3
I listened to the first few innings on radio. They said Cavallaro's Parents were in the house....drove up from South Florida to see him pitch. He mowed 'em down in the first inning, but ran into a rough patch top of the 2nd. The uprising started with a hard liner down the 1st base line which Vasquez leaped for, but seared over his head just out of his reach. A bloop and a sac fly later and he's down 2-0.
Wow. That is exciting and it will be interesting to keep an eye on. If he excels in AA, his stock would go way up.

Source: #Mets are expected to sign 23rd Round Pick, RHP Saul Gonzalez out of Montverde Academy (FL). Gonzalez is 67 and 250 LBS. His season stats at Montverde Academy (FL) this year: 8-0, 42 IP, 18 H, 16 BB, 83 K 1.50 ERA. #MLBDraft
Major, major project. Big FB, doesn't even really throw a breaking ball. Very robotic. One of the 3 HS kids they took that were mildly intriguing late along with Hammer and Clarke.
Yeah based on his HS scouting reports and the power increase it definitely appears he was selling out for power. I think it will be interesting to see how the Mets coach him more than anything, it would seem more sensible to back to the old approach and just hope he keeps some of the power, but who knows what this org will want him to do.
Re: the defense I think it's probably best to wait and see. I've seen a few writers quote scouts who say that's the tool that usually improves the most in the pros and anecdotally we've seen a few guys who were knocked as negatives (like Conforto) be a lot better than their scouting reports pretty quickly. Forgetting the weight loss and shift to CF, he was a much better defender in the corners than he was given credit for even before he got his call up. Thompson was another whose defense was questioned before getting drafted (rightfully so) and then last year I think one of the fangraphs guys said it turned into a plus.
rebuilding anything is a scary thought in this org.
