Someone will have to pull him off the golf course first.
This W isn’t worth either of their health, let alone both.
I’m a bit disappointed that Boone didn’t pull Chapman there purely out of prudence.
I'd give him a couple more games but if nothing changes I'd drop him a spot. He just looks all out of sorts at the plate to me, and they've got to figure something out to get him right.
I know it's seems like a nit pick after a win but I and I'm sure most fans expect so much more from him offensively.

I'm playing Bird even against the lefty before I put Austin out there again.
I doubt Boone does it because they kept him up for this type of reason but he's looked like shit lately. Besides, Bird can hit lefties and we need to get him as many ab's as possible.
As all decent people are
From the chatter, I thought he would be Eduardo Nunez bad in the field. But he has played not only good Defense, but even better being a rookie forced to start there.
I umderstand Tanaka is a pitcher and diff rules regarding offensive expectations and blah blah blah...but the guy popped a hammy when he runs from "here to there" (Col Nathan Jessup reference). You cant sustain that kind of injury if you are even moderate shape and prep by stretching out. He pulled a hammy (or both) from running a sprint (maybe) of less than a 40 yd dash.
Seriously though, he knows he is going to have to possibly involved offensively, it simply boggles me that a pro athlete is so unprepared (assumption) to execute a simple act like running hard for 90 feet.
I just cant get behind it

Agree 100 %, are pitchers not athletes?

You have walker and Austin in the lineup? Where is walker playing??
Austin is not hitting why would you play him? I am Walker a shot against his former team starting at 1st base
who should have made it home safely without incident. Even Chapman running a few twisting feet to field that infield hit, seemed to have a foot or leg injury. Pitchers need to keep up their running.

I agree with you about pitchers running but Chapman has a knee/tendinitis type issue that flares up. That's what he was dealing with and not something due to lack of running or stretching. Similar to what CC deals with but not nearly as bad. CC seems to have some type of bone on bone thing.

I assume he’s sitting Didi at SS for Torres with that lineup.
What did I miss on Judge?
...pitch tonight.
N.O.T.
Guy has electric stuff but the light bulb has not gone on for this young man.
Maybe one day it will.

the x-rays or MRI come back clean. But it wouldn't surprise me if he is out of the lineup or DH tonight with Stanton in RF.
What did I miss on Judge?
Apparently jammed his thumb sliding into second base late in the game. He said he’s fine, just stiff, but you never know with something like that. Fingers crossed

Yeah I've got my fingers crossed too.
It wasn't really late in the game though. It was the double play the Mets turned on the Bird grounder to 1st and the throw to 2nd for the tag by Frazier where he jammed his thumb. I believe that was in the 1st inning, and he played the rest of the game and got the sac fly so I'm thinking it couldn't have been something real bad.
We'll see though as it's certainly possible he played through it on adrenaline and want to. As you said, fingers crossed he's ok.
Probably based on WFAN callers.

Yup you’re right, that was in the 1st inning. He played the rest of the game, hopefully a sign he’s OK
No DH-NL city (see Tanaka)
That’s what the media does. They write their own opinion pieces and say they are speaking for the fans! I’ve seen it a million times. Write an article about Gardner’s struggles (or insert any athlete) and suggest the end may be near and possibly time to move on. Then when it is proven to be ridiculous thinking, simply sway the narrative so that you get to blame the ignorant fans. It’s whats great about being a member of the media. You get to slant things to your liking at will.
