Unless she's close enough to you where you know some of her interests or passions like music, a certain band, art, science, sports etc. Then you could make the gift more personal and get her something like concert tix to a band she likes, passes to an art or science museum for an exhibit she would be into, Yankeee tix, something along those lines.
We’re going to get her a gift card to a local coffee shop or school bookstore. She is heading from DC to Boston College.
Those are good ideas.
Do you know if she'll have a car while at BC? If not maybe look into seeing if Amtrak sells gift cards or vouchers. Then she could take an already paid for trip home anytime she liked or needed to.
If she is not your daughter then money. If she is your daughter then something tangible so that years later she can remember how she got it. With money it will be gone in a heart beat.
Yup, I was going to say cash as well.

100% Cash
Local to Boston College, not her hometown.
She either wins $3300 or has a fun season watching the Giants and has a great story. Win-win either way.

I had said to go the $$ route, but my wife wanted it to be a keepsake for the occasion.
That's for a wedding not a high school graduation Larry. Now get back in the dugout
Or just cold hard cash!
A combo/gift card is fun also like movies/Olive Garden combo or just a prepaid Visa/Amex is always good
Also, a north face jacket or sweatshirt from clearance, kids love those!
