Kid's got fantastic stuff he just needs to keep getting out there every five days.
No doubt he is.
I'm not trading either one and breaking this thing up. If it ain't broke.....
Trying being a mets fan. Every pitcher is a no5 starter and the offensive roster only has one player who is a plus.
Swarzak made one mistake and paid. He owned the next 2 hitters.
Yup. Great insight on that. Here's hoping he keeps his focus there.
The HR's will come just like they did in April but hitting line drives is his best approach.
Makes me feel relieved that they evidently didn’t find anything concerning with the incident last night, but Chapman is just too valuable to this team to take anything other than the most cautious route.

That makes the Betances renaissance more important. It's highly likely Chapman will need a rest/DL stint with his tendinitis so Betances might be pressed into a closer role
We win!!!
Can't give him a disrespectful sendoff. Wilpons have too much class.
Nah, there’s plenty of major league hitters in their lineup. They just all suck the second they put a Mets uniform on.

Can we just give an intentional strikeout and end the game?

Class, lol. They should give Reyes the Willie Randolph treatment.
Here's hoping Sevie throws a gem tomorrow night and gets them to 25 over.
It does count as an inning but it's really only 2-3 pitches in that inning that hurts him. Threw the one bad pitch vs the Stros and gave up the 3 run HR, but other than that he shut them down pretty good.
No doubt he keeps his spot and I'd take that kind of a start every time from a #5. Personally, I think he's only going to get better, and not make those couple of mistakes the more he gets out there.
Sanchez is having a brutal season too (under .200 batting average) but the rest of the lineup is so good it doesn't matter at least right now
Haha, Smoltz was absolutely obsessed with the strikeouts. He couldn’t focus on the game for a minute because he was too busy talking about how much the Yankees strike out. I wanted to reach my hand through the television and choke him. He made this game tough to watch
Exactly. He kept saying how they'll need more pitching come playoff time but failed to mention how close they got last year without the guys we've added. Those three lengthening the lineup will definitely put more pressure on the pitchers we'll see in October.
Plus if they had home field last year I think they beat the Stros. So if they can get it this year that would be another big advantage over last year.
He’ll get figured out again, and then rage again, and get figured out.
That’s baseball, Suzyn.
For me, the real takeaway is that he seems to have a pretty high floor (.260/.310/.490) with a ridiculous amount of upside if he finds the zone control.
Definite MLB player, full stop. Even for good Top 100 prospects, there’s a solid 25% (or much more) chance that they’re not everyday big leaguers at the end of the day.
I think Andujar is a great asset to get an impact SP. the beauty of it is, I have zero problem keeping him.
...who the fuck in their right mind would want to watch the Yankees with Domingo German on the mound?
Youre just stupid....and wrong....all the time. And that makes me happy.
German showed tremendous poise and made you eat shit tonight.
I admit that it puzzled me why Boone seemed to have slotted him in the rotation, but he seems to have answered that. If he can take Montgomery's slot, the whole trade situation gets easier.
Btw, I still wonder if Drury becomes part of a trade package for a starter. He's a major league infielder, and Andujar has him blocked. Hitting .324 with a .917 OPS is too good to just sit at SWB.
I have to say, the Mets food options are awful in comparison to the Legends Seats at Yankee Stadium. They apparently revamped the "Home Plate Club" or first data club whatever its called this off-season, but it was basically nothing. Just one small room with some sliders, pretzels, popcorn, barely anywhere to even sit. I figured the "all inclusive food" would mean a really nice spread, but it didn't. I was able to take my ticket to any concession stand and get anything besides alcohol for free, but the Mets really dropped the ball on the club areas imo. In legends at Yankee Stadium there are basically two huge restaurants behind home plate and they have absolutely everything right there that you could ever dream of eating. I asked them if they had any seafood last night and they told me to go to a stand out in center field for the catch of the day.
Before the game I got a chicken parm sandwich from a stand out by center field, cant remember the name of it, but they fucking put MAYO on my chicken parm, and my dads. I didnt realize it until we got back into our seats, but that should be against the law.
The in seat wait service options were limited too compared to YS. I felt bad for the girls that were taking orders because they needed about 10 more of them and they were completely overwhelmed.
Citi field is cool, but the premium seating sucks in comparison to other parks. They need to step their game up.
I also met Marlins Man last night. I sat with him for a half inning and he was a really nice guy.
It was perfect weather wise and I like the stadium and the seats were absolutely amazing but I dont know how they sell those seats at the face value they ask for, just not enough value.
