And Boone needs to be reminded Bird can hit lefties, and took one of the best in the game deep last year in the playoffs.
Oh and Austin sucks right now taboot. I really doubt the occasional game is gonna get him out of his funk. He needs to go to Scranton and play every day there.

Yeah, and people work themselves out of slumps on the bench.

I doubt he's gonna work himself out of it playing a game here and there in the bigs. Keep Toe up and send Austin down so he can play everyday. Much better chance of him getting his shit together there than here.
1. Tyler Austin
1a. Gary Sanchez

Haha. I hope you're right and Austin has a great game. I doubt he will but we can hope.
It's really more about me thinking Bird should be playing every day combined with Austin struggling and I don't get why he's in there.
True about coming back from that injury but he's been back a couple of weeks now. Time to see if that foot can handle several games in a row IMO. Plus, he's really their everyday 1B, and the more AB's he gets the sooner he'll get locked in.
Austin was crushing lefties but was is the key word there. Like I said, I hope he breaks out tonight and has a great game. It's really no big deal or bad move by Boone but I'd just rather see Bird in there and think that would've been a better move. JMHO
I would call up Giovanny Gaellegos for a spot start or two for German, and I would give young Sheff a shot at spelling Tanaka for 2-3 starts
Cessa won't be ready util around the ASB I believe. He can be helpful in the pen possibly if he has his act together as well as some spot starts.
...who the fuck in their right mind would want to watch the Yankees with Domingo German on the mound?

What are you talking about? He's got good stuff, he just has to put it together and that will come with experience. He got through a really tough Astros lineup after the one bad pitch.
He's their #5 starter and no one is expecting him to be Cy Young. I seem to remember Sevie being similar a couple of seasons ago.
Agreed. Toe should be called up and him down. All he does is swing for the fences and missed more then not
...who the fuck in their right mind would want to watch the Yankees with Domingo German on the mound?
A Mets fan who is looking at the Yankee prospects to see who we would want for DeGrom.

Mm spicy
Kid's got fantastic stuff he just needs to keep getting out there every five days.
No doubt he is.
I'm not trading either one and breaking this thing up. If it ain't broke.....
Trying being a mets fan. Every pitcher is a no5 starter and the offensive roster only has one player who is a plus.
Swarzak made one mistake and paid. He owned the next 2 hitters.
Yup. Great insight on that. Here's hoping he keeps his focus there.
The HR's will come just like they did in April but hitting line drives is his best approach.
Makes me feel relieved that they evidently didn’t find anything concerning with the incident last night, but Chapman is just too valuable to this team to take anything other than the most cautious route.

That makes the Betances renaissance more important. It's highly likely Chapman will need a rest/DL stint with his tendinitis so Betances might be pressed into a closer role
