how long it will be before there is a huge College Basketball point shaving scandal?
I say within 3 years
anyone want to make that bet?
Betting on College BBall was legal in Nevada before now so how does legalized sports gaming in NJ and other states make a point shaving scandal any more likely now?
Secondly, it's my understanding Vegas doesn't accept big money bets on college BBall anyway as a way to protect against such a scandal. It's not like a substantial bet on a midweek game wouldn't draw attention, and raise a red flag. It would take a decent sized bet to even make it worthwhile to try and fix a score so I don't see how it happens and would take your bet.

Nevada makes $250 million a year from sports betting - the only place in US that it is legal ---
estimates that nationwide sports betting will increate to $6.03 billion in annual revenue

But how much of that is previously illegal betting switching over to legal? While not 100%, I'm sure it will be significant.
I'm predicting there will be so many hands in the pot that it will be cheaper to stay offshore or with a bookie.
Don't mess it up!
not to make this political but it sure seems like Trump and some of the other moguls have cornered the market on screwing it up already...
Wait for fanduel? Or use a new site?
When the government gets something right and the first thing you do is complain about imaginary problems in the future, you’re doing it wrong.

Way to go knucklehead - why was it necessary to mention any names?

Good call. There was nowhere to bet on sports prior to this.

I don't want to mention any names, but NY OTB found a way to lose money even before that.

The law only authorizes betting at casino's and race tracks. Phone and internet are inevitable but not yet.

It's not like there havn't been point shaving scandals or HOF baseball players betting on games during prohibition.

Murphy was just on Francesa and said 30 days. Online will be up in 30 days to "make sure they get it right."
Giants 35-1 to win SB, 8-1 for Division.

Is it true that Murphy bet on Kryptonite with the first legal wager?
