or does there seem to be more bottom-of-the roster churn?
I missed it.

What injury did Aaron Davis have? I was looking forward to seeing what that kid would bring.

1 seems we have a lot of TEs after EE and Ellison - two guys who are locks for the roster

2 shame about Davis; I liked everything about his scouting repots

I know Scott personally. Coached him in baseball when he was young, he is very good friends with my brother. Good kid and a good family. He is a very hard worker! Hope he sticks

Simonson is another TE/another Panther. Don't rule out a return for Davis when he gets healthy. Told he has a minor hamstring injury and will be ready for training camp

No doubt. Almost as if we might use more than 1 TE more than 10% of the time this season
perhaps they are looking

for a TE who can line up as a full back. That magical unicorn that can both block and catch passes

When McAdoo came over I hoped he'd bring with the Packers' player development philosophy with him; i.e. bringing players up from within. As a result Green Bay's had to rely a lot less on acquiring expensive vets to fill key open spots; a high percentage of starting players were "home grown".

Both Gettleman and Shurmur seem to have a history of selecting good potential youngsters that they can groom, and that selection process may be what we may be seeing now at the bottom of the roster.
The real "tell" however will be in how the NYG use their practice squad; primarily as a scout team - or like the Packers also as a vehicle for development of young players.
We need DB's more than we need

I thought a FB's role was to block and occasionally run the ball.

I hope so. Like to see them run some 2 TE sets like the Panthers do so effectively. A lot of options as long as they can both block and catch (not a given). He's a local kid. Kudo's. Born in NY, residing in NJ. Like the Giants.
