Also promote Alonso to AAA so if Smith fails after a little run they can be swapped.
The guy with control problems that would max out at 5 innings because he was over 100 pitches is gone.
Agreed.
Asdrubal Cabrera plays 3B. Center a deal around Soroka

If they want to seriously challenge the Nationals. Acuna is due back next week but they need to add a 3B so Camargo can assume a super utility role. Moose makes the most sense due to price and contract situation.

How about Matt Wisler instead?

No he’s not a major league caliber starter
Literally, only the damn Mets have shit like this happen.

Wait you were serious about Soroka?
The inning was over 10 pitches ago if Cabrera could catch the baseball.
The roof just caved in

To add insult to injury, Sewald eventually comes in for Wheeler in the bottom of the inning to pitch BP, as per usual, and gives up a bomb that any of us could have squared up and ripped! It’s always a series of physical and/or mental gaffes with this group. What was it, 3 measley hits on the evening? They’re a group of misfits in baseball uniforms masquerading as a real MLB team.

Why do the mets keep putting Conforto in CF, he is NOT a CF, he's barely adequate as a corner OF?
Shit like this is why players like Gsellman "break" they are generally reliable when Robles and Sewald pitch like assholes.
Sewald has allowed at least one run in 5 of his last 6 appearances. And those are only the runs charged to him.
Over that time he has 7 inherited runners and amazingly all 7 inherited runners have gone on to score.
And he has two blown saves in that time.
I'm not sure you can get much worse.
Drew Smith should be up and Sewald should be sent down, if you want to DFA Robles to make room no complaint from me, Robles and Sewald are brutal.
In addition to DFA-ing Robles and Sewald.
And none of that is waving the white flag, it's improving the team probably short-term and long-term.

Yup. If I were Sandy I'd have Eiland/Callaway/whoever make a list of all the pitchers with similar $ left to Bruce who suck, basically other teams Vargas', and try to swap bad contract for bad contract. Realistically we know they aren't signing a big name starter in the offseason, so may as well try to go shopping for a reclamation project they can trade in for Bruce now. I guess they have until Cespedes is healthy to hope he hits a little to up his value but I truthfully don't think it's changing. That would probably be my #1 priority before the deadline.
Trading Droobs, Blevins, Swarzak, etc probably won't return too much but I'd dump all of them for pretty much whatever I could get. Clear the way for Guillorme, Cecchini, Dom, Drew Smith, Mcneil, Nimmo and Conforto to play as much as possible.
Familia is really the only one that could go either way bc Id like to resign him if at all possible. If someone offered a top 100 level prospect for him I'd have to consider it, but I don't think it's worth dealing him if it's a similar return to what Reed brought back last year. I guess Wheeler and Matz are on that same level since they are cheap upside arms and I have no confidence the org is going to find better replacements via FA next year if the Alex Cobb's of the world can still get $60m in a weak market.

That's a new one.
You can have bad luck, injuries, heartbreaking losses. But when you refuse to give an effort like this. This is when heads roll.
