I suggested to a friend that the Braves and Mets should make a disappointing prospect Former 1st round pick 1B Braxton Davidson for disappointing prospect trade Desmond Lindsay. Since then Davidson has been absolutely on fire (batting nearly .400 with 5 homeruns) and Lindsay is heating up. I have never been a big fan of Davidson but sometimes players take much longer to develop than others. For the record I am not suggesting that either has turned it around but at least they are showing signs of life.
Where is Mark Vientos starting?

Meaning the market. He's 18 years old. Brooklyn, NY is different than Kingsport Tennessee. Even the fans are different.

best farm system in baseball

Mets 2017 3rd round pick Quinn Brodey is now 4-32 in June with 15 k's. @MetsGM is really killing it via the draft #Mets

Mets 2016 3rd round pick Blake Tiberi is now 2 for 32 in June... wow #Mets

But Shecky Wilpon told me we were a Top 10 farm system :)

I'm so sick of this organization and their player development. We heard for years that Dilson Herrera was the next big thing at 2B......he's in Louisville, and not on the 40 man roster.

Meanwhile, Ozzie Albies is busting fences in the big leagues.

deGrom pitching his guts out again

and as usual Mets hitting like a bunch of pussies.

down 1 - 0 with Conforto on 2nd, the Mets 1st hit of the game - in the 7th.

Bruce turns a single for Enciarte into a double by being a lazy fuck.
But degrom

bails him out and picks off Enciarte, good thing because Camargo doubled.
Jake

gets out of the 7th with no damage. 7 IP, 7H 1 R, 7K's.

and the Mets have 1 hit heading to the 8th. 1 god damned hit, that's all we got?

deGrom is going to get screwed again by his own team

Ridiculous. I feel terrible for this guy. Truly.
DeGrom vs the Braves this season
Jay on the Island : 6/13/2018 1:54 pm : link
25 IP 2 earned runs 0 wins.
I'm pretty sure he's got the fewest wins in those starts too

is one of the best GMs in MLB? Why exactly are we risking by changing regimes? Are we worried about somehow doing worse than a bottom 5 farm system and being one of the three worst national league teams?

I just dont get it...

My problem with Mets management at the moment is that it's clear something's wrong at the organizational level. The lack of hitting at every level, even Las Vegas, is a huge red flag about coaching, training, something. The players they draft don't pan out, the hitters are regressing instead of improving, and their key players never seem to be healthy. This fish seems to be stinking from the head. Whether that's the Wilpons or Alderson or the manager or the hitting coaches, I don't know, but this season's suckitude is providing a moment of clarity.

They really need to ditch the patchwork assemblage of veterans who (predictably) can't play (Sorry, Jose Reyes and Jose Bautista, we're looking at you) and start bringing the kids up. How much worse can they be? Does anybody pay to see the vets? Are they selling tickets or parking spots or burgers? Maybe beers, because you need to be wasted to watch this team. But c'mon...
The system and analytics are screwed up

That is really, REALLY hard to do. Gotta tip your cap to this team: They are finding historic levels of awfulness.

This time w/name: The @Mets go over $125K value in 23rd round, give $175K ($50K counts against bonus pool) to Saul Gonzalez. 6-7 RHP from same HS as Lindor; huge projection, avg 93 on FB. 2ndary stuff needs work, @MLBDraft
I read the Phillies
pjcas18 : 6/13/2018 5:29 pm : link
went over 650k on their 9th round pick.

a HS kid who throws mid-to high 90's.

How will they make that up?

9th-rder Dominic Pipkin signs w/@Phillies for $800k (pick 257 value = $153,600). California HS RHP, up to 96 mph w/fastball, flashes plus slider, feel for changeup too. California recruit. @MLBDraft
