I am heading to the Paul Simon concert on Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly. As a frequent traveler for work, I have a nice amount of hotel points, so I decided to stay at a hotel to avoid any traffic going in or out.
I'm staying on Intrepid avenue near the Navy Yard. Its about a mile away so I can walk back and forth.
How is parking in the area near the hotel? The hotel charges $15 for on-site parking but states there is "complimentary" off-site parking. I'm not exactly sure what they mean by that, but I'd rather not pay a parking fee if it can be avoided.
Any restaurants nearby that I could check out for a quick bite to eat? I'm not looking for anything fancy, but it doesn't have to be cheap either.
The tickets I got were in the "club box." Does this come with any type of food/drink benefits? Or is it just access to the club level?
Any other comments/advice/recommendations are welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance!
The only hotel down there is the Holiday Inn and the only places to eat I know of close to the WF Arena would be in the Holiday Inn, and the big XFinity Live building they have there near where the old Spectrum was.
That area doesn't have much to offer and if you can't stay at the Holiday Inn and walk to the venue, I'd take the advice above and stay in Center City and train it down to the show. More hotel/restaurant options and the train is a piece of cake.
I've also used points and stayed at one of the Airport hotels. The Sheraton Suites there is pretty nice, and their restaurant was good for both dinner and breakfast. I took a cab to the show (10 minutes and $15) but getting one after is tricky.
Best thing if you do that and can't get a cab/Uber right away is walk to the Holiday Inn, grab drink or a bite to eat and there are usually cabs out in front all the time.
The whole area is pretty much just the Sports Stadiums/Arena, Parking lots and warehouses, plus the Holiday Inn and XFinity Live building.
Bar Amis is good italian, and its right at the main gate on Broad St. It's not open on Sunday's though, so that's a dowside. Center City definitely has tons of options for food, and it will cost you less to Uber or take the subway there (station is right at the sports complex). Parking at Center City hotels is $48 a night. XFINITY Live has a bunch of bars and big screen TVs, and a few places to eat with slightly better than standard bar fare.
If the weather is nice, and it interests you, you can walk around the Yard and take in the decommissioned cruisers and frigates, or walk along the Delaware River. It's a nice campus with a mix of historic buildings, old ships, and open spaces.

Awesome, thanks!! I actually decided to stay at the hotel once I saw the parking fees for all the hotels in Center City. From there, I will either order delivery or Uber to Center City. And this way, I can just walk back afterwards.
I appreciate all the information and tips.
