I agree- I think that guys like Swanson, Feyereisen and a couple others who would otherwise need Rule 5 protection next winter could be used in such deals.
Not because I think their minor league pitchers are a lock or anything, but because I want them to keep a long term perspective. This team's window is just opening. There's no reason to make a panicky overpay for a pitcher.
Frazier and Adams plus mid tier is not giving up the future. We still have Sheffield and Florial for the future. Plus we add a much needed arm for this years run.
Frazier should be the starting LF next year. Gardy is in the last year of his contract and well into the wrong side of 30. The way Frazier is tearing up AAA pitching right now, I would not give him up.
He won't be facing the Yankees lineup in YS anymore.
That's actually a very good point.
He has really good stuff and has generally been a pretty solid mid-rotation pitcher. If the cost is low, he's probably a good target.
Hey arc, welcome to the Evil Empire, brother! I’m sure your heart still belongs in Queens but it’s always good to have good posters on the Yankee threads. Enjoy the ride my friend, this is a fun team to root for. As temporarily as it may be for you. Let’s do this!
While Loaisiga will get the start Thursday night, Sheffield is the scheduled starter in AAA that night. Adams pitches tonight.
In the event that Loaisiga underperforms, the Yanks have Plans B and C lined up for the next start (likely Tuesday against the Mariners).
Wouldn't mind seeing Sheffield get a start, but Adams is not all the way back to last year's form/strength.
Not sure if it works on his throw day but maybe he gets the call for the suspended game at Washington next week?
I suspect that since they got through 5 in the suspended game, the Yanks might elect to make a bullpen game out of it- maybe let Green go two and then figure it out from there.
I am not sure that this really counts as a DH, so I'm not sure the Yanks get a 26th man Tuesday.

Thanks, bud! Appreciate it.
Trying not to jump all over you guys' threads and act like I'm some lifelong die-hard, it'll take time for me to adjust - but the Mets really lost me this year and I'm not the type to root for two teams in the same sport. What's going on there this year was just the final straw for me. I love baseball too much to sit through another year of the bullshit.
I've been watching the Yanks instead for a couple weeks now and am enjoying it - my family are mostly NYY fans, I feel at peace with it. Easy to say when they're playing this well and the Mets are so bad - but it's not even about that anymore. It's just the massive difference in professionalism and competence.
Looking forward to shooting the shit with you guys.

Maybe but they could also save the pen and just use either a long man or spot starter there and keep everyone else as normal as possible.
I could see making it a pen game if they were in the lead and trying to lock down a win but that's not the case.
You guys do realize that was hit to left field, not right, correct?
oh, you are right 314 vs 310. power shot.....
It’s 318 down the line. And it was about 20 feet from the foul pole so at that distance it probably went 325 or 330 considering it was a couple of rows back. It wasn’t a monster shot but to hit a ball that looked like a pop up 325 feet the opposite field is not a cheapie in any park. I’m sorry, we will agree to disagree.

Bizarre start for the Nats indeed. 2 guys picked off first, and a runner on second doubled off on a line drive. We’ll take it!
;)
Was thinking the same thing..
Judge, Hinks and somebody else hit screamers for outs and that POS pop up goes a HR.
That's baseball Suzyn...

You think the left field line is long?
On the line it’s not but it goes out quickly. That was not right down the line.

Thanks, friend! Always good to see you around. Hope you're doing well!

Yelich would have cost us half our system. So yeah if it makes you feel better, keep saying it.
