You shouldn’t be surprised. Alderson doesn’t believe in accountability and will always go with a veteran whenever he has an opportunity.

in April/May before the wheels fell completely off in June and Smith was really struggling in Vegas so at least that one I somewhat understand.

Not excusing AGone at all. He had been really bad the last 4 weeks and needed to go for sure.

I really cant believe how bad this offense has been over the last few weeks though. Its absolutely mind boggling. You expect bats to cold but literally every single bat at the same time.... plus Cespedes and his vagina hurting every single year is just lovely.

The biggest culprits are still Cespedes, Conforto, and Bruce IMO. Frazier and Cabrera are streaky but at least are somewhat doing their jobs. Smith and Rosario you expected growing pains although I admit they have been worse than expected (I'm including Smith's Vegas performance in this). The top 3 guys have either been hurt or awful and we really needed them to at least be average to stay afloat. I thought they were considering sending Conforto to AAA? They should have done it weeks ago.

he didn't throw a ton of innings, but he had over 70 appearances each of the last 2 years and he'd never appeared that much in any other year of his career. K's are down, walks are up. Guessing his stuff just isn't the same.

and without that pitch he is sunk as a pitcher. That is why is stinks now.

He hit a 445 ft homer in this game and very nearly hit another one, just got under it a skosh.

Then you realize it was 3 solo hrs and they only got one other hit.

Alderson should be ashamed of himself.

night had a brightside. Conforto, Nimmo and Rosario all going yard is nice to see. These three players, along with a few of the SP, might be the only reason to tune into this team for the rest of the year.

Coupled with the extremely awful farm system, Anderson should be fired right now and not allowed to make any decisions on the future of the team.

He's coming off a major injury and im sure the re-adjustment isn't easy and his OPS is 100 point higher than Bruce's. If they want to give him some rehab time or they think it's a strength issue since he was limited in the offseason that's a different story, but also something they should have addressed in bringing him back slowly during ST.

Eh, not really. Home runs are cheap in Arizona. It’s pathetic that one hit in one game for each of these players is “nice to see.” Not that I don’t agree with your sentiment...just an indictment on where we are as fans.

Conforto had a 4-4 game a month ago and everyone (fans and SNY crew) were gushing over Conforto getting hot. Yeah, how did that work out?

This team could rip of 6 straight wins and it wouldn’t move the needle for me as a fan.

People can lean on “health” as an excuse but it’s just BS. Health hasn’t impacted our offense that much outside of Cespedes (who royally sucked anyway before straining his vag). It’s easy to see why their offense sucks. The hitters never go with the pitch to make contact. They all pull the ball to try and crush home runs. They all pull off the ball. Hence all of the pop ups, long fly balls and strikeouts.

The Mets developmental system should be the norm on how NOT TO develop a player.

Trade Cespedes too, eat half the $ and get at least a B level prospect.

But I havent really heard of us going over slot for anyone yet (more than 50k that is). Soooooooo where is the money going?
