Which one do you prefer?
I'm a collector of 1980s NFL logo drinking glasses. And I'm sipping on a Sweetwater IPA in a GIANTS drinking glass and it makes me long for when those were our helmets. The Pats, Bucs, Broncos, Falcons, & the like had pretty cool helmets back then too.
Hideous.
Stupid thing to get worked up about, IMO.
I understand why some want to see it once a year as the alternate, but nostalgia for those years doesn't make the thing look any better. Of course that awful early 70s thing is worst of all.
I am absolutely alone in this but I like the Michigan-style "winged" helmet the Giants wore at some point in the in the 30s or 40s. I'd rather see that for the "throwback." But I gather that it's too difficult and expensive to have a second approved helmet for each player.
I'm okay with either helmet, but neither is very exciting, so to make up for it we would have some variety.
NTTAWWT.
That pic of LT is pretty darn cool. Miss those uniforms and the players in them. We didn't always win but we were in the win column far more often than not under Parcells (after 83).
Kinda like how Steelers have logo on one side and the othe blank - since someone stole it (hence Steal-ers name - at least thats what I thought as a kid).
Wasn't there a time when the Giants and maybe Knicks used the intertwined NY logo? The one the Yankees now own but actually stole. I wonder how that would work today?
What I DO miss are the old away jerseys.
I think we can all agree the 70s version was an abomination, just like the teams and fashion of that decade generally

over the GIANTS helmets of the 80's. Just throwing in my vote...
Same
Me too. When I was a kid I preferred the old helmets over the "GIANTS" one:

haha. Actually I believe what happened was the first time they got helmet logos ordered they ordered 1 decal per player forgetting that each helmet requires two.
It's ny for me.
