NFT: So, I guess Sunday is Father's Day? Already?

Beezer : 6/15/2018 9:16 am
My wife just asked me last night what I wanted ... or wanted to do for Father's Day.

Me: When is it?

Her: Uh ... Sunday?

Can't keep track of all this stuff anymore lol ... and my answer was, hey, low-key. Nothing I really need or want ... let's make breakfast and hang with the kids in the morning. Maybe hike in the afternoon. Lawn work in the early evening then cook dinner together. Watch a movie at home later, bottle of wine?

Anyone else completely forget?

And the traditional question: BBI, whatcha got goin' on for Dad's Day?

Where we will proceed to sweat our balls off because I didn’t want to spring the extra couple hundred bucks to get Trophy Club tix. Guess being with the common folk in the gallery will have to do.

I want to sit around the yard all afternoon, play some tee ball / baseball with my almost-2 and almost-4 year olds, get the kiddie pool / water table / bounce house all set up, bring the Sonos outside.

Cook some ribs / steaks / wings.

Maybe a margarita or two and a few beers. No fuss and nothing that requires a lot of cleanup.

Seems like the last one was only a year ago

My wife has a habit of relating the date of an event to Mothers Day

For instance, "your son has a dentist appointment the Tuesday after Mothers Day". This type of conversation can happen weeks or months prior to Mothers Day.

When the frig is Mothers Day?
My second father's Day without my father.

I will visit the cemetery in the morning- first time seeing the stone. Then home for a quiet afternoon. Two of my four children will be home- seared tuna and hanger steak on the menu, a precious bottle of red and the U.S Open.

Hope you all enjoy your Father's Day!!

As long as she doesn't refer to Sunday as "a month after Mother's Day" count your blessings.

I noticed it was father's day. I said hmmm cool I'll, take the family including my wife and mom and we'll have a cool dad-son and daughter day. Well instead I was told I have to truck off to Brooklyn to see my niece and her baby and see if we can stuff 20 people into their apt that fits about 8 comfortably when its 90 degrees out, so I can't even swim. So in other words Fuck Hallmark and their fucking mothers/fathers/whatever days. I'd rather it be just another normal Sunday.

Then hanging with the kids, firing up the smoker and watching the US open in the afternoon/evening.

Sounds perfect.

Thai Time near downtown. Nice place. My wife must have told him I broke the bowl I use for shaving because he gave me a shaving mug.
Had a good time he and I haven't hung out in a while.
my wife and I don't celebrate Father's Day and Mother's Day

sure she will send our parents gifts and cards but we are breaking that tradition with our kids.

My kids are older and we all enjoy each other's company every day. There is no need for a special day to celebrate being what we already are.

That's how we look at it.
