NFT: What Are You Going to Grill on Father's Day?

EricJ : 6/15/2018 9:00 pm
I typically just like to just chill at home and cook on some wood coals. Just having a tough time deciding what meat to grill this time.

One thing I know for sure is grilled corn on the cob with butter and chipotle pepper... then shave the corn off into a bowl and toss with some lime.

What are you guys doing?
I might smoke some chicken wings.

At work we're grilling Veal Porterhouse Chops, Prime NY Strip Steaks, and Berkshire Pork Chops. If I can get off, then it's Burgers & Dogs, with Macaroni Salad & Corn.

Going to get the spice rub working on those shortly, start low and slow in the oven tomorrow morning, finish and sauce on the grill around 2pm.

For dinner, maybe some steaks or burgers/dogs, whatever my wife and kids are in the mood for.

best ways to cook Steaks. A few posters raved about the "Sous Vide" method. I did a little research, and saw the rave reviews and how inexpensive the devises are, so I purchased one and will be trying it on a few filets on fathers day.

Purchased back ribs instead of St Louis spares....

Any differences as far as cooking methods or other tips that I need to tinker on account of that difference?

Love Hanger steaks. Most people don't know about them, but for a less expensive cut of beef they are certainly packed with the flavor of the more expensive cuts. I get them for $7 per lb. at our local butcher.

whole butterflied chickens that are marinating in olive oil, red wine vinegar, onions, garlic and rosemary. Along with potato wedges, asparagus, carrots, sweet peppers, baby bok choy, and cauliflower steaks that'll be brushed with olive oil, salted and peppered before I grill them. Also corn on the cob that I'll brush with a tarragon and garlic butter once they're done grilling. Delicious and healthy. Best of both worlds gents

Problem is, there’s only about a pound or so of hanger steak per animal. So you only find it at a specialty butcher, and even then you usually have to ask for it.
Change of plans...scrap the salmon. We are going with

That is because the butchers generally keep them for themselves
The decision has been made...

and I have a few 2 inch thick pork chops sitting in a brine right now. They will go on a wood coal grill. I also got some filet minon steaks. Will basically keep the grill going all day. Throw a hot dog on once in a while or even a bratwurst.
For the guys cooking ribs..
