Shurmur said good things about Webb (and he has all camp so far). This is good news for Giants fans, not bad news. Does it need its own thread, I guess thats up to the OP and others, but I see no reason to bitch. He's a 3rd round pick who some say should have went higher. We also know that while the odds are against it slightly, many good QB's have come from the 3rd and later. If Webb can be good, that means we have our QB and we got Barkley too. As a Giants fan I think this is a very good outcome if it happens.

And you justified these numbers, compared to Geno Smith's performance against Oakland, because Eli didn't have 4 starters, including Evan Engram playing on that day.

However what you have failed to realize, is just 5 weeks earlier on 11-23 the Giants already played the Washington Redskins, and Eli Manning had most of his starters, including Evan Engram.

What were his numbers?

These are the facts, you read that correctly, a 44 QB Rating with Evan Engram.

I'm sure Eli Manning himself is not proud of either of those performances. (Personally I believe Eli is going to have a bounce back season in 2018)

The quote was "has been impressive". Nothing in quote or article said "Starter".
Last year his job was to watch and learn. Not replace ELI. As for Geno, why would you start a 3rd rd rookie over a "ex starter" on a bad team. It seems like he has learned quite a lot.
Three years under Eli, at little cost, he may turn out to be one hell of a QB.

Dep I like your posts and I have been around here a long time, if you don’t like the post or the poster just move on man.

Jimmy Googs is a great poster and seems to be always polite. I always enjoy chatting with him. SX is definitely a different type of poster but I have enjoyed his posts for awhile, Especially pre-draft. I didn’t agree with all of his posts but I don’t get the need to attack him. A lot of his pre draft posts lead to great discussions. Keep it up man.

Now that’s a lot of BS.

SB justifies the SB. Nothing more needs to be said and nothing else would justify the pick better. It was the absolute right pick at the time and everything we’ve seen so far only bolsters that.

Beyond that, everything you said about Webb is applicable to any of the QBs available to be drafted as SB alternatives. So, also bolstering the SB pick.

And even beyond that, picking a QB versus SB is moot so it’s obstinacy or idiocy only that keeps people’s panties twisted.

Tall with a strong arm, but can move better than lurch. That being said I think Kyle Lauletta will be the better pro because of his ability to scramble and runs better than Webb. Webb has the stronger arm but most QBs are not throwing bombs most of the time. The ability to adjust and move away from the pass rush is now essential... I would put my money on Lauletta.
