1. Sevi vs. Stanek.
2, Nice MLB debut by Loaisiga last night. Gammons calls him a young Riveria
3. Cash makes it clear Gleyber is untouchable (so ESPN shut-up with the Gleyber for deGrom nonsense)
4. Nice game by SWB last night.
- Red Thunder with a HR
- McKinney with a 2B and HR (he suddenly has been raking HRs at quite the pace)
- Drury was 4 for 6 with 3 runs, 2 RBIs and a 2B (he is now hitting .344)
And good to see Gary had good hits in back to back games. Hope to see him get out of the slump.
LeBlanc pitched great, probably the best game of his career. Gave up a lead off hit to Betts to start the game and then retired 20 something in a row. Their closer Diaz is legit as well.
They've also won something like 20 one run games. Impressive and agreed, they're no fluke.
A fucking Mets fan comes on a Yankee game thread and tells them how they should act and how spoiled they are? Get the fuck out of here. It’s not our fault your team is a dumpster fire. So, because the Mets suck, Yankee fans aren’t allowed to discuss our own team, because the Mets have bigger issues? Is that right? You cannot be serious.

giving up a run shows you how good they have it and how spoiled a fanbase they are. Whining about an obscure LHP and if Sevy should have been finished the game? Who the hell cares???? The Yankees are winning every game. How could you complain. Be a Mets fan and have to watch this garbage team every day. Then you see if you worry about Chasen Shreve.

What can you expect from someone that willingly calls them selves "Deejboy", though? Seems like arc is the only Mets fan who can post on a Yankees thread without making an ass of himself.

It’s amazing. We haven’t said shit to the Mets fans on this site, yet they continually have to tell us all how bad Yankees fans are. What am I missing? What fanbase doesn’t discuss their team in a game thread and call out players that don’t perform? You think Patriots fans don’t rip players when they suck? Red Sox fans? Are only Mets fans allowed to criticize players or coaches? Damn man, the whole mindset is just odd. Come on to a Yankee thread to rip the fanbase for daring having anything negative to say. Simply because his favorite team is an embarrassment. People suck

Yanks are also only a half game in first. Yes, we have the beet revoked
I think it’s unfair that only the Yankees have the beet revoked

Beet revoked? WTF is that? Another auto correct malfunction?
And Hicks is at .239, even with a .340 OBP that sucks. Will Frazier get some time eventually, batting .311 with a .964 OPS?
I hate seeing the talent languishing.

LOL, it's a combo of auto correct malfunction and wife rushing to go to my granddaughters dance recital.

Drury has only played a couple games (ever) at 1st base and there is a world of difference between AAA and MLB with regard to pitching and BA. Not that Drury doesn't belong on a MLB roster and not that Bird is raking. Bird may take a couple months to hit well. I can wait.
Frazer is not a CF. Hicks is a very good CF with a ++ arm, great baserunning and some power. They can live with Hicks offense because of his defense. He is another that should hit sooner or later.
IMHO.
From the NY Post (linked):
As the Post notes, that could be the prelude to a trade. My issue for the Yankees is that he has value either with them or as a trade tool--and that I hate seeing a talented 25-year-old stuck in the minors.
I agree that Hicks gets some extra credit for being a superior CF. But an OPS the same as Torreyes ain't so hot. I fear that his swing is too noisy--big leg kick--and he may never really settle in as a hitter. The noisy swing was a killer when he came back from injury last year for the playoffs. He looked lost at the plate. He ended up hitting .196 for a .564 OPS for the entire playoffs.

Cruised the 1st and had a couple dinkers and a couple solid hits in the 2nd. Looked to be out of it and gave up a poked single to drive in two more. Just left a cutter up in the zone.

Ah. Against the Rays, too.
Come on boys, pick him up!
Is it me or does it seem like Stanton in particular takes pitches right down the middle early in counts and then swings at shitty pitches late in counts?
Are they up there guessing or just not identifying pitches like they should?

It's bad.
3 out of 4 the rest of the way....
Shitty offense? What team have you been watching all year?
They're scuffling right now scoring but they had some chances. It's not like they went down 20 guys in a row or something like that or haven't been getting on base these games.
Take a few deep breaths and relax a little. There's a long way to go, and they'll score plenty before all is said and done.
Bingo!
A sweep would've been a nice bonus but just keep winning series and I'm happy. I'll take 3 out of 4 every time and be ecstatic.
...would have been even nicer had the Yankees batters not looked like they took the day off.
Stirke One.
Stirke Two.
Strike Three.
All day long.
I think everyone knew he was going to try the backdoor curve and the guy went out and got it.
Going opposite way if that is where the pitch seems like the lesson for this season so far.
I assume Sanchez is just lost but I am not seeing a smart plan from Stanton considering he was the MVP in the NL
I have no idea whether Thames is a good hitting coach or how hard he works at his craft, but the Yanks aren't idiots, so I suspect that he's better than the results that the team has shown.
As for Stanton, I have no idea how he managed to hit as well as he did last year with such a closed stance. It sounds like he knows that the stance must change, but he's said he can't do so in mid-season. I really don't know why not, but who's gonna tell the reigning MVP with a 10 year contract to do something he doesn't want to do?
And, HI, BILL!

Stanton changed to the closed stance mid way through last season - and that is when the HRs started flying off the bat. So there is no reason he couldn't square his stance up a little bit tomorrow.
Sounds like he doesn't want to alter it.
I dont remember seeing a good steady power hitter with Stantons closed stance swing

One bad inning cost him the game cause this shitty offense can’t score

They are homer or nothing. In the last 20 games they have only scored more then 5 runs 4 times and have not scored double digit runs, But they are 14-6 in that span which means the pitching is doing it’s job, yanks have been winning games because they are getting very good pitching. Even Jack Curry said on the post game yesterday the Yankee offense has been frustrating to watch and yanks are winning because they are getting good pitching. and another thing it’s not like the Yankees are facing all star pitching staffs the offense should be a lot better then this..people ignore the offense because they are still winning. And before people call me a moron for complaining about the Yankee offense and how the Yankees are 46-21 so why am I complaining. Boston is not going away and I don’t want any part of that one game playoff we need to win the division something the Yankees haven’t done in 6 years.
