Yeah I've been wondering about this stuff, too. That young phenom Washington wasn't up yet either, to my knowledge, so I guess he can't play?
True yea Soto can't play. Austin not being available because he was sent down hurts. We lose an extra player, Since Gardy will be out of the game. I think all we have left on the bench with Walker having to go into the game is Romine and Toe. He was still up then right? Than can be big in a tie game in the late innings in an NL park because of the pitcher's spot.
2. Sanchez gets his act together. That strike-out in his last at bat yesterday was horrendous. How does he swing at a ball that bounces 1 to 2 ft. in front of the plate?
3. John Carlo find his grove. He just doesn't look like that confident hitter we saw last year when he was playing for Miami.
Yep just got the answer asking Jack Curry on twitter
Numbers will be fine - I think ARod had 36HR that season - but just looks uncomfortable and hasn't had the major impact that was expected. Long way to go though.
Beltran also struggled in NY when he first got here in 2005 - he was tremendous the next year. 41 HR, 116 RBI.
Stanton has also just been prone to stretches like this in his career. It's not terribly out of the ordinary for him. My guess is he'll go on a pretty massive tear at some point this Summer.

Ya know... sounds like Giancarlo...
Yeah, that's the ticket
RE: People here really tend to underestimate how highly the Yankees
A couple of things - Its very hot and humid in DC today. If you're going to the game its going to be a steamer. There is water in Bud Light, FYI. So take advantage even if its shit beer.
Soto is eligible to play in the suspended game. Whats funny is that his service time date will get pushed back a week (he was called up to the majors a week after that series).
to play Gardner through this knee trouble. Makes a lot of sense to give him a 10 day break and let Clint play. It's a long season and we know Gardner has a history of wearing down.

I agree. Seems like the perfect opportunity to get Frazier some AB's with the Yanks and get Gardner some rest. Put him on the 10 day DL and reward Clint for his excellent play down at SWB.
I don't know if I agree with starting Green in the suspended game. I would think a long-reliever would be wiser. Try to preserve the bullpen for both games. Green is terrific, but he maxes 2 innings, right? I forget what inning it will be when it starts. 5th? So that is 5 innings to get through. Wouldn't want to use up too many arms in the suspended game prior to the full one.
What do you think?
RE: Giancarlo resembles ARod in his first year here (2004).

Looked it up.arod was batting .295 and had 18 homers and 44 RBIs after 67 games his first year. And he only struck 131 times that season Stanton will shatter that.

Sanchez just seems to be swinging for a 5 run homer every time up. The one time he slashed a bases clearing oppo double on Friday he looked much more relaxed, hopefully he can find that kind of groove soon
JK Have a good time. Remember nothing beats the heat like cold beer!

Oh yea I forgot they called him up that week. That will help.
Watch we over pay for Dan Duffy or some other crappy SP.

Not a snowball's chance in hell that happens.

Gardner isn't getting Wally Pipp'd now- but there is a very real chance that when Gardner hits FA this winter that Frazier becomes the new LF.
Oooops, found it...yeah
No, that will be Elssbury when he returns.
