Do you want Aldrick Rosas to return as the Giants kicker?

NYG27 : 6/18/2018 2:47 pm
Being able to only connect on 50% of your kicks from 30-49 yards out is a real concern (7 out of 14). Although he did display a real strong leg on kickoffs and connected on all three of his 50+ yard kicks.

Strong leg, awesome. Matt Dodge had one too
Again proving you can't observe much beyond that you think Odell has a cool fucking haircut. Jesus you're a fucking tool who knows nothing. A strong leg matters for a kicker you dipshit, some guys take a few years to get that squared away in the NFL but the stronger leg has the advantage. Dodge was a punter who could boom it but not aim it, huge difference but I don't expect you to get that, you're a fuckwit fanboy who knows precisely dick.
Another frustrating coaching decision from last year

Once it was clear that the season wasn't going anywhere and certainly once they were eliminated from the playoffs, they should have had Rosas kicking field goals at every opportunity. Instead, McAdoo and Spangnuolo chose to prioritize their careers over the good of the team. How many times did the Giants face 4th down inside the opposing 40 and instead of kicking, they either went for it or worse, punted?!? What exactly was there to be gained? They should have had him kicking on every 4th down for any kick less than 70 yards. Who cares if he missed every single one? Its not like they were going anywhere anyway, and now they don't really know what they have in him.
Won’t matter...

The offense is going to put up so many points our kicking game won’t be a factor. But yeah, if he can improve his accuracy I’d be happy to have him. Hate to see him take off to another team and put together a solid career. Also hate to see him suck this season. Kickers.
I think it matters when you make them

That s why Ind prefer a Tynes over a Brown. Not much positive to se in Rosas

looked all that great in preseason, so I was very skeptical. The generational leg crap must have been like Matt Dodge. You NEVER saw it on game day, or it was few and too far between.

Well, he only attempted 25 kicks all season. And he was 3/3 on 50+ (50, 51, and 52 yards)

And missed 7. That's a lot by today's standards. And three XP's.

And as far as those 50+ yard FGs, I do remember them being of the line drive variety. In fact, the one in Denver I'm not even sure how that knuckler made it.

And that's the thing...you can tell when a guy has a booming leg. They hit them high, and with distance.

Rojas does not look or play the part. Not last year anyway.

Who would have thought that Matt Bryant would have the career he's had after a not-so-great performance with the Giants? Let's see what happens in the preseason. If Rosas isn't any good it's not that there aren't always a bunch of vets looking for a job. There's always a replacement available.
RE: Seems like a good dude but he was awful last year....

I really don't see the strong leg. Almost zero touchbacks last year. I think he had one or two. Just pathetic. Every long kick barely over the crossbar. Plus the blocks. He's gotta go.

Too much truth in this view to dismiss it.
The only way to improve is

in the league worse on touch backs. He has a weak leg

He was responsible for multiple losses.

Which ones?

Tampa, Philly, Raider game he didn't help with his anemic kickoff to start the 4th and the Charger game was weak.

Plus he missed a kick or XP in half our games.

That’s a pretty damming stat. If he’s not kicking touch backs and he’s iffy on extra points and he’s so so on money FGs, well, then what’s the upside to the guy?
Rosas does not have a weak leg

he can kick the damn ball over 80 yds

something worked it's way into his head -- and he was not handled well last year

Dump him. Id rather a blind mule kick for us.

True. I miss the days when our kickers could hit their targets, in more ways than one.
to return as the Giants kicker?
Torrag : 6/20/2018 8:45 am : link
No. With his subpar low ball trajectory he is a criticla kick just waiting to get blocked. Frankly he lost the kicking competition in camp last season and it was a mistake having him on the roster.
