EX GM

Just curious anyone know what Resse is up to these days. Has he secured another job
I don't think he has

I believe GM contracts are the same as coaching contracts. The Giants have to pay the remainder of Reese's contract. But if another team hired him, the Giants would be off the hook. So Reese has no incentive to find another job until the paychecks from the Giants stop.
he's selling his house

I imagine being in the 24/7 grind like he has for the last while, he may not be rushing to get back into the game.

That and the fact that his failures have been statistically proven him to be a lousy GM may make him re-think his career path. He should go back too scouting. Peter principle in action.

Don't worry though, he's a multi-millionaire.
Enjoying the irony of someone ripping another person for incompetence

while botching sentence structure and spelling in just three sentences.
He will land on his feet somewhere ....

doing something. I imagine he could go work for a sports agency firm also. As a GM he spent many years negotiating contracts ... why can't he work for the player (if he wants to) - at this point? It would be like a prosecutor becoming a defense attorney or Vice/versa?

I would think his experience would be valuable when looking out for the player - if that is what he wants to do?

I thought retirement might by an option but, he is younger than I thought - 7/22/63. He is a spring chicken .... good luck JR!

I always had your back .... not like the rest of these guys. ; )

j/k - the rest of you guys

I was wondering too

obviously being GM in top media market takes.a toll
and he was with same organization for 15 years

I am sure he is decompressing

The fact is if the Giants do well this year -- the core of the team is still very much Reese's and will reflect on him .. especially if Webb emerges as the heir apparent to Eli.

I have no doubt Reese has earned and will get a GM position with antother NFL Team -- that is if he desires it
He is still getting paid

I believe he had 1-2 years left on his contract.
A GM's connections are far and deep

He can create many opportunities for himself if he wants.

What core? We're going to have like three new starters on the offensive line, and that's where he failed miserably all these years.
We don't have a core....
Britt in VA : 6/19/2018 10:40 am : link
that was the problem.
Things unraveled for him..
Sean : 6/19/2018 10:48 am : link
But he has been an employee for NYG since 1994 and helped contribute to 2 SB’s. It was time to move on, but he deserves respect.
Thankful for everything Reese did....

No ill will towards him.
His 2007 draft
Knee of Theismann : 6/19/2018 12:30 pm : link
Brought in multiple pieces that were integral to our 2007 super bowl run.

Then he won a super bowl in 2011.

His downfall was his complete incompetence and cluelessness in evaluating o-line talent. But no one is perfect-I have no ill will toward him and wish him the best.
Yeah, agreed. Reese had his high moments for Giants
Jimmy Googs : 6/19/2018 12:39 pm : link
but downfall was all the Oline issues for certain.

Basically "defaulting" starting tackle jobs to Flowers and Hart were death nails...

I agree he was too loyal to the offensive lineman he drafted and he did not do well scouting offensive lineman and linebackers. I was not happy when he drafted Weston or Pugh who could not stay healthy enough to finish a season. Jerry was terrible in the run but decent against the pass. He should have started Flowers at right tackle and signed a decent left tackle in free agency Like Whitworth out in LA who had a good year
