Player on Colombia in the 4th minute decided to throw his arm up to stop an easy Japan goal and got a red card plus the penalty resulted in a 1-0 Japan lead....

Absolutely one of the best. Adds excitement to even the slowest-paced game. Colombia backed off after getting even and paid the price.
Agree, he's in the Latin style, whether Latin America or Spain, the pbp guys take their futbol seriously!!
As far as Colombia backing off, perhaps, but hard to maintain that pace playing 10 for 85 minutes.
And also agree with McLovin re. Ian Darke, who can convey so much, so profoundly, in so few words. Pity that Fox and whoever had the international matches here in North America before Fox dropped him. The Americans doing this WC on Fox are hacks, pure and simple.
of the mid-2000 Ghana teams. Speed was their best weapon but Senegal has some extra size to go along with it. They, along with Iceland, are the two most fascinating teams so far this tournament (also Japan).
I’m rooting for Poland in this tournament due to my heritage. They got screwed on the second goal but did not play well overall. Too tentative and gave the ball away too easily.
fucked up allowing an injured player back onto the field causing a goal....Senegal 2-0..
Disagree. It didn't look good but he followed the rules there and actually waved him on when the ball was in the Senegal end and up in the air. He had no way of knowing there would be a header and then backwards kick by Poland toward their own goal keeper.
Then the Polish player and goalie messed up who was going to play the ball and the Senegal guy made them pay for their mistake.
I think the only way to fix allowing injured players to be waved back on during play is to only allow it during a stoppage like say a free kick, player down or a foul that isn't a play on.

Yeah, well it was legal, but as the analysts said, mismanagement by the officials which is likely to earn them a trip home.
So yes, it was legal, but it was poorly done. Not Senegal's fault. And BTW, Senegal clearly out played Poland.

Japan looks a lot more skilled than I thought...
Am I right?

I'm not digging him. He talks too much. Ian Darke is better and reminds me of Pat Summerall.

This is a fascinating, wide open tournament
You don't see that very often...it's like hockey where a player coming out of the penalty box gets a break. Unfortunate break.
But this Senegalese team is fun to watch. Rooting for Gueye and his team to advance. Group H is going to be fun.

No, they should return on the next break, i.e., throw in, penalty, free kick, etc....
