I dunno

It would suck, I'll tell you that. I'd have to go to Giants.com whose posters make BBI posters seem like geniuses.

Well. I would forget there are so many Giants fans who whine and root for the Eagles in the Super Bowl?
I think

I'd be very very upset. I really get a lot of joy from this site, beyond just football.

Ok...Are there rumors about Eric shutting down the place once and for good or something?
People could delay that nightmare

By contributing to BBI during the fundraising, shopping at Amazon through the BBI portal, etc.
My answer today is very different
GmeninPSL : 6/20/2018 2:46 am : link
than it would have been 10 years ago. In my case, it would not effect me that much, and I've been posting since the late 1990's.

My sentiments exactly. I'm one of the first 100 to BBI, even recall the old Pete's Corner forum. Whoever he was. LOL.

I do enjoy all of Eric's work but I know him outside of BBI as well so the connection would still be there, less a lot of the football talk.
Like anything else

been very hard to take. It was my go to site everyday, several times a day, for many years. But a few posters here ruined my feelings for this site. Now, I just follow the football only posts, of which there really aren't that many. If BBI were to close down today, I wouldn't care.
Wouldn't affect my life
Marty866b : 6/20/2018 8:33 am : link
But I would be disappointed and definitely would miss it.
I would miss it a lot - come here all day long and enjoy
giant24 : 6/20/2018 8:36 am : link
both football and NFT posts. I would never not come here or not miss it because of some posters I dislike - just ignore them.
Is there such a thing as life without bbi?

BBI is the first place I go for Giants and Mets news. It is still the best place to find non - newspaper type information it would have a big impact on my sporting passion.
other than breaking

I would have an emptyness without BBI
Fred-in-Florida : 6/20/2018 9:10 am : link
I get on every day sometimes multiple times looking for any new Giant info. Enjoy some of the NFT threads.

Don’t appreciate some posters maybe I’m a little thin skinned but I’d don’t think they’d make thier comments to my face!
Are you kidding?
GiantSteps : 6/20/2018 9:14 am : link
I'd be super bummed out. BBI is one of my favorite and oft visited sites, and is one of the best online resources Giants fans have.

BBI is as much a part of the football season and offseason as the games themselves, at least to me. I love the banter, Sy56 insights, breaking news, etc. Where else would any of us go to get that good stuff?
.

Sorry, the site has no relevance to my life. I have children and grandchildren for that.
I love Eric, met him and have spoken with him on various
That’s Gold, Jerry : 6/20/2018 9:33 am : link
occasions. But BBI 2018 is not the BBI I joined in 1996. Perhaps it is a sign of the times and what the internet, generally, has become but BBI now has far too many trolls and those who just want to stir the pot as opposed to having a rational, reasoned discussion.

I would miss the information provided which is the main reason I check out the site. Other than that, I certainly would not miss the Corner Forum.
I took a 6 1/2 month sabbatical. Honestly, never even lurked.
Big Blue '56 : 6/20/2018 9:38 am : link
Took BBI off my desktop. As mentioned, insights from SY’56 et al as well as the incredible daily news compilations by DefenderDawg were sorely missed. Just on this thread, I missed interactions with arcarsenal, Fred, PaulN to name a few. Many others I was able to connect with offline and on Facebook. The ones I couldn’t connect with via those mediums I missed and so I returned for interactions/insights of those I’ve always respected.

I also FINALLY got it! That is, stay off threads that are stupid and uninformed as well as no longer interact with those I do not care for or respect. It’s working. So far. 😎
Wouldn't

Pete was the site's original IT guy. Pete's Corner was in response to Eric being overwhelmed with Letters to the Editor. At one point, people would submit letter after letter in pissing matches with other letter writers until Eric put a cap of two letters a day per person. Man, those were some wild times....

Were politics allowed in those letters?
Wouldn't

Affect me at all. 4 years ago it might of. Having a family will do that. The Giants losing doesn't bother me as much. I would be depressed for a couple of days after a loss years ago. Now I get over it quickly. I enjoy this platform and it's a given that I'll be on it daily. I appreciate it!
I'd be upset for a couple days
DennyInDenville : 6/20/2018 10:19 am : link
I'd probly join a BBI Facebook refugee group

Then life would move on.

But I would definitely be VERY upset at first.

I've been visiting this site as long as I can remember. Sending Eric silly questions to the editor and waiting for his answer
I would have to find another Giants news site to rely upon.
Don in DC : 6/20/2018 10:24 am : link
That's about it.

Once upon a time I took this site (and specifically this forum) a bit too seriously. That ended a long time ago.
Tremendous loss in terms of 'football guy'..

Lack of exposure to the BBI non-elite would improve how I view my my fellow man, however.
On go on BBI a lot when I travel so that would make time on

I'm still stunned at how many Giants fans were rooting for the Eagles. Including my dad, and my family has had season tickets since the 50s. I just don't get it.
I would probably

15 or 20 years ago different answer but the site has changed and so have I.

I’d just use one of the other Giants sites to keep up on Giants info.
I'd spent (even) more time on Reddit

Agreed but not surprised at the same time. Some weird stuff I've read over the years as a member of this site, but that is the sad winner.
i like this site
Les in TO : 6/20/2018 3:03 pm : link
good information on the draft, some knowledgeable posters who used to play ball at various levels giving unique insights, not to mention a good alternative sounding board on a range of non football topics.... but between career, kids, friends & family, home maintenance, working out, etc my cup is full, so if BBI ended, it would not affect my life.
Counterintuitively, I think BBI helps me stay out of my "bubble"
wigs in nyc : 6/20/2018 3:04 pm : link
As much as internet communities are derided for creating echo chambers, I appreciate BBI for the way in which I believe it attracts contributors from many different walks of life. As can be evidenced by the necessity of a "no-politics" mandate, BBI is far from an echo chamber, and I believe plays a positive role in helping me to consider the views of those with whom I don't necessarily agree.
I like to read so i would mis it

forgotten after passing away, and I needed a distraction to fill some hours of the day. Silly as it may sound, BBI was huge for me and helped me retain my sanity. BBI was tougher when I started and the abuse I took on this site was like a challenge to me that I had to stand up too. I would have missed BBI in a big way. Today I don't know, I got old and I am still a freaking lunatic who takes the abuse as a challenge.
BBI gone?

I've visited the page pretty much daily since the 90s. You can't do something that regularly for that long and not miss it if it goes away.
Totally enjoy the site and the commentary
