Hello everyone, my fitbit Charge 2's heart rate monitor broke last week and all fitbit will do is give me 25% off my next purchase since I am out of warranty.
Feeling jaded, I said fuck that and bought an Apple Watch this morning. Currently, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and honestly worried that I spent 400 dollars on something I'm not going to use to its fullest potential.
I have an iPhone, iPad , Macbook Pro and the wireless headphones from Apple, so it's not a matter of not understanding the technology or Apple's iOS's. Moreso, I feel that Fitbit does a better job of bringing the caloric/heartrate aspect into the forefront, which is my prime reason for wearing a smartwatch.
I doubt anybody has had both of these watches, but currently I'm looking into returning my Apple Watch and getting a Fitbit Versa for half the price. I'd love to get some reviews from those that have either product. I am really conflicted.

I thought about buying a new Blaze or waiting for the Versa, but ended up going with the Apple Watch 3 instead thanks to some unexpected tax return funds.
All in all, I really like the Apple Watch - it's far more advanced than Fitbit's devices in all the ways it works with iOS. The only complaint I've had about is that it just doesn't do tracking as easily as the Fitbit did.
Fitbit typically automatically logs and captures workouts and sleep. With the Apple Watch, I've yet to find any workout or sleeping apps that log and track automatically. That's honestly my biggest gripe - it's been fantastic outside of that.

My biggest problem. I love how sleek the Apple Watch is, but it simply doesn't do what I hoped it would tracking wise.

It crapped out on me after the warranty expired - battery started getting ridiculously hot and burning my skin so I had to get a replacement.

Yeah - for that reason alone, it might be worth it for you to make the return.
My hope is that eventually there will be more tracking apps that hopefully work seamlessly - it just won't ever all be in one app tracked neatly and together. But I get enough out of the Apple Watch otherwise that it is worth it for me.
Fitbit is fitness first, with some other stuff thrown in. Apple Watch is like a limited feature mini-iPhone.
I use the Garmin vivo active watch. I got it 2 years ago and its great. If you play golf its great for that as well.
I'm psyched that unlike my previous Fitbit, it's waterproof. Going to come in handy this summer!
