NFT: Stub Hub tickets. How reliable?

MOOPS : 6/20/2018 2:25 pm
I was looking at some last minute concert tickets. They were listed as instant downloads. I didn't wind up getting any, but it got me thinking.
Is Stub Hub always reliable? Anyone ever get burnt (forgeries, not getting tickets in time)?
Never had an issue
DennyInDenville : 6/20/2018 2:27 pm : link
I'd say they are 99.2% reliable
I believe the instant downloads

are pretty scam proof

I've gotten bad tickets from SH before

Their rectification of the issue varies.

If you got an amazing deal, they'll refund your money and tell you they can't offer a similar seat.

If you got an ok deal or there are other tickets available at the same price you paid, they'll offer you a similar pair of tickets. It may be delivered to your phone or you may have to make a trip to the local Stubhub office to pick them up.

StubHub is buttoned up and totally reliable.

The only thing that COULD happen, is a seller listing a ticket and then entering the event before you with a printed ticket. And that's extremely rare and accidental, since StubHub will keep the seller liable for that make-good.

I have

bought from them numerous times and never had a problem.
Thanks guys.

You eased my mind a bit.
I sell all of the time on stub hub

and take my word for it from a seller's perspective. You will NOT get screwed out of money. It is possible yes that a ticket could be invalid but that is rare and stub hub would reimburse you. If they found out that the tickets you bought had a problem BEFORE the event, they would source other tickets that are equal or better and would pay any difference out of their pocket.

True story...
I was selling tickets about 5 years ago. $1000 per ticket. The tickets sold and the buyer was Stub Hub. I called to find out WTF that was about and was told they purchased my seats to give to a customer who had an incident with a different seller.
I have

bought and sold on SH multiple times with never a single issue.
Have a friend who bought

8 tickets all together. My friend and his wife go to scan their tickets and they were not valid. The other 6 were ok. They did get my friend and his wife tickets. However, they couldn't sit with their friends.

Sometimes it is an honest mistake. You have to upload the tickets into stub hub but first you have to download them (ie from the Giants site). Every time you download a new ticket, the bar code on the one prior is voided. I got confused one time which one was the correct one and had to re-print again just to make sure.

I don't know the details. He was just telling me what happened on the day of the concert.
I haven't had any problems worth mentioning,

but I don't care for the way StubHub handles tickets for NYCFC matches.

To begin with there's no such thing as "Instant Download" like there was when the team ran it's own Ticket Exchange or when tickets were available on the Ticketmaster resale page.

When you search for tickets to a particular match they give you a promise date when you can expect your tickets. I buy the tickets, StubHub notifies the seller, and he then emails me the tickets whenever he gets around to it.

I'll never buy tickets when the promise date is the day before the match, because it's too much of a hassle if your tickets don't show up (I know of 2 guys this happened to).

I've used StubHub three times this summer and twice the tickets were delivered to me a day late. Like I said above, it's really no biggie, but I do find it aggravating; especially when you're used to getting your tickets within minutes from other sites.

I've never sold tickets, but from surfing around in various forums I understand selling NYCFC tickets is a huge PITA as well.
Many-time customer.

Most trouble-free way I’ve bought tickets online.
FYI, Ticketmaster's Ticket Exchange...
EricJ : 6/20/2018 7:50 pm : link
does not show all of the tickets for sale on their site either. There has been an issue with it for a while now. People listing tickets and then they are not visible to potential buyers.
I use StubHub quite a bit,
Section331 : 6/21/2018 9:44 am : link
and I've never had any problems. Their fees are higher than other services, so I'll always go look at SeatGeek for a comp. SeatGeek is usually a bit cheaper, but has much less inventory than StubHub.

I bought tickets to the Mets/LAD game on Sunday (yeah, I know), and even with fees, the tickets were cheaper on StubHub than they were on Mets.com.
no problems
