The bottom of the roster is always competing against other teams' camp cuts. New coaching staff may prefer a new guy to the guy who was part of the 2017 debacle.
I would love to see Evan Brown and/or Nick Gates make the team over Jerry. Assuming the starting lineup stays as is then that leave Wheeler and Brett Jones as the only locks among the backups. That leaves 2-3 spots among Greco, Jerry, Becton, Brown, Gates, Jarron Jones, and Cooper. I think Greco will win a spot as he played very well last season and he did move ahead of Jerry on the depth chart.
Evan Brown was impressive during the OTA's so it would be ideal if he could win a backup spot for this season and then competed for the starting job in 2019. There is a good chance that one of the backup spots will be filled by a veteran OT who is picked up after final cuts.

Love ya Jay, but how does one “impress” during OTAs?

I'm sorry I was vague there. There were comments about how quickly he got out of his stance and his hand placement. I know that means little at this point but he was arguably the most intriguing UDFA they signed. We need to see how he does with pads on against veterans but it is nice to see some praise for the young offensive linemen.
BB56 my expectations are higher than usual for these offensive linemen due to Gettleman's recent history of finding solid offensive linemen without the use of an early pick. Andrew Norwell UDFA, Mike Remmers UDFA signed off Rams practice squad, Trai Turner 3rd round, Daryl Williams 4th round. For the record I am not suggesting that Brown is some great find yet but hopefully he is another Rich Seubert or Shaun O'Hara type.
injuries, Solder, Hernandez, Halapio, Omameh, Flowers, Jones, and Wheeler will be on the 53. That leaves one or two spots, depending on whether the Giants want to carry eight or nine OL. Greco, a rookie, or a veteran cut from another team all seem more likely than Jerry.

That was a healthy Dave Gettleman. Now that he is going through Chemo, we don't know what to expect. I'm hoping it doesn't effect him as much, but as others have stated, Chemo brain is a real thing.
Never saw a man of his size be pushed around like a rag doll on the line of scrimmage even by small safeties. This shows a lack of heart or desire to play at 100% capacity. I hope that Jerry becomes a security guard at Met Life Stadium and not a back up O-line guard, or guard of any kind on the Giants team itself.

If some developmental guy do decently in summer camp, I do not know why it is worth keeping Jerry around...

I think Jerry stays on the roster as a backup.
Jerry Jerry < Veal Parmigiana Sandwich? Fuck you
The reviews on him sound a lot like a younger Jerry. I won't be that shocked if Jerry beats him out.
Can he really be as bad as perceived and remain a starter in the NFL year after year; Jerry Reese really that bad.
not really much cap reason to jettison him. all depends on whether a youngster shows more promise.
He's not the kind of guy you want starting in the NFL, but not many teams have more than 5 guys you want starting on the NFL. Some don't even have 5.
It's almost comical how some around here can only see black and white.
Jerry is fine as a backup. You aren't going to do much better.
I am not saying we have younger backup Guards that are worth the chance at development, but if we do, Jerry should absolutely be cut.
If we need a Guard in November, we have his phone number...
