It is amazing the games Eli had against the SB champs last year, especially in comparison to other games. Against Philly, Eli had games of 366 and 434 yards. What's surprising is that they were the only 300 yard games he had last season.
Combined, he threw for 800 yards against Philly, which is 23% of his season total, so nearly a quarter of his production came in those games.
He also had only had two 3 TDs games last year --the two games with Philly.
Anyway, not trying to read too much into this, just thought it was interesting how much these games stood out in contrast to the remaining.
This gets forgotten way to often.
I actually think if we had won that game, this season past wouldn't have gone completely down the shitter.
They had some offensive momentum headed into the next game, and then all the WRs were knocked out from there. That was the end of any hope.

the first game had it not been for Sheppard being robbed of a TD twice!

It also reinforces what an incredible effort Eli put forth in the second Eagles game where the malaise had already set in and he was throwing to WRs that should have been bagging groceries.
Eli s record speaks for itself, the good and the bad. No need to stretch the truth to defend him
Eli can still play. If these games make you believe that, then cool. Bottom line is, we lost.

I agree. I think if we win that game, the pressure doesn't get to us and we don't choke away the next two games (Tampa and San Diego) at the end. Eli doesn't throw an atrocious pass that gets Beckham injured and doesn't fumble the game away on the next play. The team is 3-3 and the season is entirely different.
Problem is, we probably have a mediocre season, end up 8-8 with a lower pick and it won't be enough to fire Reese and BM.
His career play against Philly has been pretty poor.
And the sample size, two games, doesn't tell you anything about future performance.
Only thing its really demonstrates is that the Eagles weren't as good as they are given credit for

Completely disagree here. Every Philly game is a big game. Being 0-2 and going into the 3rd game, the first Philly game was a monster game in terms of getting the season back on track. Eli came to play. There is no truth stretching.

You know what an optimist I am, but I don’t think so. We were basically playing people off the streets..Our record pretty much depicted what went on, imo
First Philly game at 0-2 was big for that time of year I agree. But wouldn t that have made the 4 th game, even bigger.
Everything else didn’t...

Philly wakes up, and goes 75 yards in a minute and a half, to tie the game...
Then the Giants return to normal with a stupid penalty and a missed 3rd down conversion and settle for a fg...
With 51 seconds left, the Giants are back to normal.....3rd and 15, a 14 yard completion.....how many times did we see that last year?
And then THE punt by Wing, and the comedy show where Apple takes out Jenkins allowing the receiver to get out of bounds with one second left.....you can't even make this stuff up in a book....followed by a game winning 61 yard fg....
The second game? Two long td's were gifts from poor tackling....Blowing a 21-7 lead....the offense and ST's gift the Eagles two short field td's before the half...blocked fg in fourth quarter, followed by a drive resulting in 1st and goal at the 9 and couldn't score.....
These two games show what Shurm has to instill in his team....the ability to finish games, and create a winning attitude......
