Eli Manning to @RhettNFL/@nflnetwork: "Obviously it has been an unbelievable run but I want to continue doing it. It’s not over. I know that. ..I’m excited for this upcoming yr & really prove that I can still play at a high level. We can win games. We can win championships." #NYG

Eli Manning to @RhettNFL/@nflnetwork on Pat Shurmur: "He tries to keep the game simple, which I enjoy. He’s not trying to make it overcomplicated & it’s been great in practices & watching film with him after. We have a great relationship & are on the same page." #NYG

Eli Manning to @RhettNFL on Odell: "He wants to get back to scoring touchdowns & celebrating & having fun again. I think he misses that part of his life. ... If Odell catches an 80-yarder, we will go into an electric slide or something." (We have seen them dance. & #128514;) #NYG
I'm really looking forward to this season.
Yea, Eli talks way too much. What?
LOL
Bad take.
Bizarre response. Albeit typical, considering the poster...
Anyway.
I've said this several times, but I think Eli is going to surprise a lot of people this year. No, he won't be 2011 Eli ever again - but I bet he has more left than a lot of fans think. I think Easy E still has some gas in that tank.
What's the objection to positive talk while 2+ months from real football?
Are you for real? SMFH
In June? Fuck outta here clown
You probably should have thought about what you typed before hitting submit.
Criticizing a guys play, that s what fans do, questioning a guy like Eli s media s presence, not so much

lets see some results Eli and less discussion.

Yup, I’ve been saying the same. Hes going to bounce back and prove he still has it.
Analysis and interpretation? First, he'll need to "research" the matter.
"I consider myself in that class," said Manning
If he makes that statement again, can he back it up?
There is so much wrong with this statement.
2014 and 2015 which were some of Eli's most productive seasons, show he could flourish in the west coast offensive system.
I've found when people like yourself attack me, it's because my research and data exposes your logic.
So what people like yourself have to do is call me names...
I think what was meant was:
"That sounds great! But please no electric slide"

He was the wrong QB in the wrong system playing for the wrong HC. Nobody can be more happy than Eli that numbnutz is gone.

Actually you're quite wrong. The 2014 and 2015 offense was a mixture of Mac's offense and Coughlin's offense. Once Mac became HC he ran his own offense with terrible results.

Oh, you got me Dr Oppenheimer! I’m exposed! Pants around my ankles balls swinging in the wind.

No, you are wrong. McAdoo received complete control over the installization and running of his offense . Coughlin intervened on strategic decisions like going for the TD against Dallas. The QB told Jennings not to score on his own . Then when running the clock down became essential because they were only going to get s short FG, anyway, the QB ditched the ball in the end zone , stopping the clock, because he didn’t want to get hit. You know, shit like that .
As far as His Excellency ‘s comments , I see we are going to the “too complicated” mantra, which is the default response to every system change in NFL history . The fact of the matter is when league sources commented on the Giantts’ offensive problems, like the Bengals’ DC , who spoke on the record to Collingsworth, they universally claimed that the Giants offense was too predictable , too simple .
The QB cannot move . He will no longer take a hit to give a play a chance . He’s been wearing a red pinny lately so all is well with the world . Weapons abound . Opportunities are so abundant that Giant fan sits there pumping his carrot in raw, ribald anticipation .
Then the season begins and with it the pressures designed to get right to the heart of the matter . The QB can’t move nor will he take a hit .
If a system requires athletic ability resembling Rodgers or Wilson to result in even league average success, it's likely a shallow system that defensive minds will figure out quickly and shut down. Furthermore, if it's a system that only flourishes when a special WR routinely takes slants to house, it's a weak system. And it's also a weak roster.
Brady, Rivers, Ryan currently and Peyton, Warner, Marino historically are/were relative statues in the pocket. These few examples and countless others have all had successful careers due to systems designed to support their strengths. The idea that Eli is less mobile inside the pocket now isn't taking into consideration many factors that directly result in the difference between a completion, a sack, or a throwaway.
It's been said time and again by people who understand the game, but so many here simply can't seem to grasp it. Judging the ability of any quarterback not named Rodgers or Wilson under last year's circumstances is foolish. Even those two would have struggled.
It takes a very special quarterback to succeed with a soft front, a depleted WR corp, a weak backfield, and a limited play designer/caller.
The beauty of the game is that it's all about team. Hopefully (health) we'll all get to see first hand what the quarterback can still accomplish with a team around him.
McAddo was crap, and I believe in Shurmur (as much as someone can without seeing him run our team yet)... but can someone take a stab at explaining what Eli was saying from an X's and O's perspective? Or is it literally just generic Eli-speak that really isn't saying much of anything? (i.e. trying to talk up his new coach without jabbing his old one)
LOL
BBI should be blank until september. No discussion allowed.
But yet BBI clings to and hopes that was the case...
