German on the hill. Have to avoid getting swept. Been a tough stretch offensively. I think we'll get a good bunch on the board today and come away with a win.

...a sweep in Tampa?
Is this the start of a team slump?
But once we leave we seem to wake back up.

It's 2 losses - I really don't think there's any cause for concern.
I bet the bats put up 5 runs or more today.
Yet to drop 3 straight all season and I don't think it's going to happen now, either.
But once we leave we seem to wake back up.
Playing in that dreary stadium in front of 1/4 full crowd is enough to put anyone to sleep

I know they're pros and we expect them to play well no matter where but I do think that shithole has something to do with it. It's dreary as hell, and I can see how anyone would have a bit of a letdown playing there.
That said, I expect a bounce back win today and then the bats to heat up in the hitter friendly Citizens Bank Park in Philly. Just in time to be back to playing well for the Sux next week at the Stadium.

playing in Tampa? Its like that place just drains the energy from this team like kryptonite.

pretty good crowds this weekend
Yanks just shifted themselves into a triple.
GD astroturf
A lot of hangers and a lot of solid contact.
But yeah, no doubt Cashman is going to make a move for a starter. Don't be surprised if he acquires two...

JA Happ and Cole Hamels?

Yep.
Also wanted to say welcome aboard, arc.

Tanaka is getting close, so that'll help a little bit.

I think he'll stay away from Hamels - or at least I hope he does.
Happ is a realistic target. Depending on what happens with the Angels, Richards is another guy worth checking in on down the road.
I wouldn't hate going after Tyson Ross depending on the price.
I still like German a lot, and I agree he should keep pitching and keep developing. Tanaka will/should take Johnny Lasagna's spot when he's back. German should get a few more turns through.
Gray seems pretty unreliable right now. Sevvy and CC are the only two guys I think you can trust in a bigger spot right now. So, whether it's one starter or two.. it'll need to be addressed. But I'm still very much against dumping the farm to do it.

Thanks, bud!
I did - it took much deliberation and thought, but I'm here for good now. This isn't a temporary change for me.
So, thanks man! Looking forward to what should be a great next few years for us. :)
They've been playing like shit since arc moved over. I'm not holding out the welcome sign, yet....

Not entirely true. They swept Seattle and he had already made the change.

LOL. Tough crowd!
For what it's worth, the day of the DET doubleheader was when I "flipped" and started watching every game..
13-6 in that span including a sweep of the Mariners.
Frustrating series in TB so far. But this one is far from over. 3 runs isn't the end of the world against a team that uses their fucking bullpen for entire games.
How is somebody only just starting to throw now?

Every convert must be tested!
You are absolutely welcome here. Glad you turned to the Dark Side.

All you guys gave been very cool about it. I feel at home already!
Just stands there and watches 3 strikes with 2 runners in scoring position and two out.
Swing the fucking bat.
