German on the hill. Have to avoid getting swept. Been a tough stretch offensively. I think we'll get a good bunch on the board today and come away with a win.

What about Greg Bird?
It happens. It’s annoying, but it happens
That Neil Walker AB was sort of hilarious too
Just stands there and watches 3 strikes with 2 runners in scoring position and two out.
Swing the fucking bat.
He's a guy who looks to me like he needs regular AB's and isn't suited at all to a spot start.

Yeah, he's been better in other spots when he's gotten regular PT - but he's never going to get that here. So, I definitely don't think he's long for the spot he has right now.
That AB before was just putrid.

Yeah he's not going to get that here and to me is really only injury insurance.
They're going to have to figure out what to do with that roster spot. Status quo, bring Drury up or bring Toe back. At least Toe produces when put in a game. Not easy to be a utility guy like that and continue to produce, plus he always seems to bring a spark to the club.
Yeah but this is the 7th time they've played the Rays in the last week - week and a half. You'd think they've seen these guys enough now to be getting batter, not worse.

is killing them. Not there long enough to figure them out.

They saw real starting pitchers in a few of the games. But it is not easy to see somebody one at bat once or twice a week.
1 run game, fellas.

Yes they have but its not like those starters went really deep in games.
My point is they have seen these relievers. While it's not easy to see them rarely, seeing them recently should've helped. It's not like this was the first time they've seen these guys. If it was say a Nationals staff, I think your point would carry more weight as that would be once or twice in years if ever, not a week or so.
No mention of the fact that he's hitting .138, of course.
Stickball.
Stickball.
Ground rules...they have it designated what appendages are in play or deadballs...
Romo is shot - this is what happens to TB when these games get late. They don't have many options.
Stickball.
I agree with that. If you're going to play in a rinky dink park, anything hanging should be a ground rule double, and the upper rings a HR. No way a ball should still be in play like that or a fielder being able to catch it for an out.
Clown shoes baseball stadium, and MLB should be ashamed they hold professional games there. A minor league park, who cares but a Major League one? What a joke.
GIDP and he gets hurt running. Goddamnit
Refuse to take what the pitcher gives and grounds into the DP.
Thankfully we have Romine. Could do way worse. A lot of teams don't even have a starter as good as Romine right now. There's really a dearth of talent at the C position across the league.

Yeah well maybe if Boone doesn't sit him again the game after a big HR, and when he was getting his stroke down, he would've been locked in. Instead he gets cooled off by his own manager for the 2nd time this year just when it looked like he was coming around.
No reason he couldn't have at least DH'd after hitting the game tying HR vs the M's.
He texted me this: 'It's a long season. You gotta ride the waves.'
Yanks will be fine.
