beyond the personal disaster this would be for Jenkins and the tragedy of the life lost, this would be a crushing blow to this defense.
Already thin at corner, you have to believe DRC would be brought back immediately.
What exactly does it look like to you? This could be any number of things. One of the guys tasked to watch his house could have done something wrong and it would have nothing to do with JJ.
to determine if it's a homicide or a natural. While it certainly does not look good, don't read anything into the presence of the homicide squad. They won't announce either way until the next of kin has been notified.
Now why the prosecutor is commenting is kinda interesting...
Would he really leave a rotting corpse in his basement?
This needs to be natural causes or an overdose death. If there is any foul play even if he's not directly involved the giants will be forced to part ways

Police sources have confirmed a body has been discovered on the property of Giants Janoris Jenkins in Fair Lawn, NJ. Jenkins is not in the state and has been in Florida since camp broke. He is aware as are the New York Giants. Told this is a homicide investigation
RE: Body was found in the basement by a worker in the home
Ive also learned Janoris Jenkins had family staying at that home...he had plans to return to New Jersey today to deal with this situation but he may stay in Florida. #Giants
Also last night in NJ, a man claiming to be Janoris Jenkins brother was on a Jet Blue flight to Fort Lauderdale from Newark to allegedly meet up with Janoris. The man caused delays because he was too scared to fly according to witnesses I spoke to. He got off the plane #giants
Or the dead guy, but that seems to be insignificant right now.

"@JetBlue 4 hour delay Newark to ft Lauderdale last night and zero compensation not acceptable rethinking my airline choice and now I find out Janoris Jenkins brother was on the flight causing even more delays with his antics and flipping out #compensation"
Except you weren't posting that at the same time. It was posted 15 minutes before you post that Jenkins was known to be in FL. Great defense though, sorry to have triggered you so hard!

SOP for a routine death of natural causes, heat, or old age wouldn't involve a bunch of yellow tape cordoning off the home and surrounding area. There has to be a little more to this story than old house keeper found in the place. Hopefully there is no foul play involved......

I am hearing a gun shot wound was found on the victim. It is also believed it was self-inflicted. They call everyone it to confirm the findings to make sure it was not a homicide but suicide. Trying to find out more.
My guess is that Jenkins had nothing to do with this
would not be brought out to a home of a routine dead body. There needs to be some suspicion or circumstances for them to go out. A suicide could warrant it especially if its a gun shot, at least thats how it was on the NYPD.
Family staying at the home, a report of a family member that caused a disturbance on a flight, and now a report of a self-inflicted fatality? Hate to hear it, hope foe the best for he and his family.

Per law enforcement sources, police are investigating a possible strangulation/suffocation as the cause of death in the case of the body found at Giants CB Janoris Jenkins home.
to NJ for questioning. I think that would have happened by now if he was potentially in trouble (of course, the request may have been made and we just don't know it yet)
I purposely did not post it as it was unconfirmed, but now that the body portion has been proven true, I feel passing along the part about the brother and brother's friend being suspects might be more credible.
I'm sure our FO is on top of this, and has spoken to Jackrabbit.
From the football perspective, even if it's just a news report scare, I have to think this may at least scare the FO into a bid on one of the supplemental CBs plus diving into the FA market sooner than later..unless Bettcher is doing magic with camp guys.
I live in Fair Lawn now, moved here a few years ago. It's a very diverse town in that it borders a number of larger towns (Paramus, Saddle Brook, Glen Rock, and the river separates Paterson). Jenkins lives on the side of town that is closer towards a section of Fair Lawn called Radburn, larger homes, nearer to the Glen Rock/ Ridgewood side of the town.
I know he has a step son who plays on the football team in Fair Lawn and Jenkins came to the practices when he was suspended last year. By all accounts he's a good guy in the neighborhood, plays basketball on his driveway with the kids who are around.
I know a bunch of the cops in town after coaching their kids over the years in various sports. I'll reach out to a few of them tonight to see what is going on.
Early this morning But didnt want to believe it. Plus hes a dallas fan who routinely fucks with me with crazy stories like this. After not hearing shit all day I thought it was another gag... logged in to BBI... crap.

Thanks. It also lends credence to the story of Jenkins brothers behavior attempting to get on a flight out of Newark last night.
behind saying its stupid to say this doesnt look good for Jenkins, because obviously he was in Florida and he was not involved with whatever happened.
But seriously, OF COURSE its not good for Jenkins no matter who did what and when. A dead body was found in his house. That is horrible. It does not look good for Jenkins-and that doesnt mean he did something wrong at all. This sucks for him. Im not saying hes going to get cut or he was involved or he kept the wrong people close to him etc... but it doesnt look good for him because its not good for him. This is awful.

It's not good for anyone if someone was murdered but if someone breaks into your home and kills a house guest then you'd have a dead body in your home but no one would say it's a bad look for you.
Let's wait until we know more. If the facts reflect badly on Jenkins then we can say so at that time.
Regardless of what the police determine you know that Rodger Goddell who thinks he is the King of the World will launch his own investigation. Seriously if Jenkins had anything to do with it do you think he would leave the dead body at his house?

Not judging, because I have those same thoughts.
But it reinforces the distraction and escape from some serious issues that sports represent for many of us sports fans
I like most of you feel badly when I read or hear things like this, but move on quickly.
I pray for the family to get through this ordeal, and at the same time hope Jenkins can still play and at a high level.
Sometimes you have to compartmentalism, it s just the way it is.
Not posting to reveal things you already know, just sharing how these things impact me, and that the shallowness it seems to reflect is more the norm than we might suspect.
and he said folks in the neighborhood told him that people stay at the house all the time when Jackrabbit is out of town. I have to think this happened without his knowledge.
I can't imagine anyone-no matter how dumb-killing someone, leaving the body at their house, & flying down to Florida. Come on.
OJ allegedly kind of did that. And, he got away with it. He "allegedly" killed his ex-wife and Ron Goldman at his ex-wife's house, left the bodies there and flew to Chicago a few hours later. Not saying Janoris did that, but murder is an irrational act, so because you would act rationally does not mean someone who committed a murder did as well.
FYI: I use the word allegedly because my goal is not to spark a debate about whether OJ did it or not, my point is that common/rational sense doesn't always work this way with people who commit irrational acts.
Is regardless of legal issues, which hopefully will be negligible, how will a brother's suicide in his house affect Janoris?
It wasnt his brother! The name of the man was Roosevelt Rene, a family friend.
I mean, I'm pretty sure Jay's saying, from a human being standpoint of someone losing a person they consider a brother to suicide, in their own home no less, that it may affect him mentally and/or emotionally. Don't get caught up on semantics.

Of the articles written, they've mentioned that he's a "family friend," they produced music together, the fella was living in his home, was at an airport claiming to be his brother, and the neighbors confirmed as much. Just using context clues that they were close.
Is regardless of legal issues, which hopefully will be negligible, how will a brother's suicide in his house affect Janoris?

The guy claimed to be Janoris's brother but is not. He was the guy who tried to get on the plane, therefore he died between then and 10 am yesterday when the cleaning lady found him. Janoris was in Florida the whole time. Unless he hired the person to kill him he has nothing to do with it.
He said Jenkins brother is a person of interest in the death of Rene. Both men lived at Jenkins house at times. Rene was a music producer that recorded at least one rap song for Jenkins under his MC name Rabbit.
I can think of a few scenarios that would be bad for Jenkins as Im sure we all could.

Sorry I jumped to conclusions and thanks Colin.
Yes thye bigger issue is the effect on a person if someone he was close to, felt responsible for etc killed himself while a guest in his house.
Some reports were citing strangulation/suffocation as cause of death which I would have guessed meant a murder charge.
I'm not a criminal attorney but I think aggravated manslaughter might include "crimes of passion" (i.e. heat of the moment - like a fist fight where someone dies) ... whereas murder may be limited to deaths caused by advanced planning (leaving the fight, driving home to get your gun and then returning and shooting the victim).
I'm not sure, but I think it is something along those lines.
They must have just updated the article. Now it reads Newton Place.

The guy claimed to be Janoris's brother but is not. He was the guy who tried to get on the plane, therefore he died between then and 10 am yesterday when the cleaning lady found him. Janoris was in Florida the whole time. Unless he hired the person to kill him he has nothing to do with it.
I can think of a few scenarios that would be bad for Jenkins as Im sure we all could.
Probably no one. If hes allowed to stay in Florida hes obviously not a person of interest at this time.
Want to do a break in?

advised him to stay in Fl. So who is watching the house now?

Its early. They will get his brothers electronic devices.

Other thread says his brother is not a person of interest.
Huh, the other thread explicitly says the brother is.

I mean, I'm pretty sure Jay's saying, from a human being standpoint of someone losing a person they consider a brother to suicide, in their own home no less, that it may affect him mentally and/or emotionally. Don't get caught up on semantics.
Huh? There was speculation it was his brother. It wasn't. No semantics involved.
Sorry I jumped to conclusions and thanks Colin.
Yes thye bigger issue is the effect on a person if someone he was close to, felt responsible for etc killed himself while a guest in his house.

Hopefully theres nothing else to it. Sad situation for the victim and his family though.
