I'm sure our FO is on top of this, and has spoken to Jackrabbit.
From the football perspective, even if it's just a news report scare, I have to think this may at least scare the FO into a bid on one of the supplemental CBs plus diving into the FA market sooner than later..unless Bettcher is doing magic with camp guys.
I live in Fair Lawn now, moved here a few years ago. It's a very diverse town in that it borders a number of larger towns (Paramus, Saddle Brook, Glen Rock, and the river separates Paterson). Jenkins lives on the side of town that is closer towards a section of Fair Lawn called Radburn, larger homes, nearer to the Glen Rock/ Ridgewood side of the town.
I know he has a step son who plays on the football team in Fair Lawn and Jenkins came to the practices when he was suspended last year. By all accounts he's a good guy in the neighborhood, plays basketball on his driveway with the kids who are around.
I know a bunch of the cops in town after coaching their kids over the years in various sports. I'll reach out to a few of them tonight to see what is going on.
Early this morning But didn’t want to believe it. Plus he’s a dallas fan who routinely fucks with me with crazy stories like this. After not hearing shit all day I thought it was another gag... logged in to BBI... crap.
This needs to be natural causes or an overdose death. If there is any foul play even if he's not directly involved the giants will be forced to part ways
@art_stapleton
Positive ID made, per acting prosecutor Dennis Calo: victim is Roosevelt Rene, a 25-year-old referred to as "a family friend of the residents" in a statement.
Investigation continuing + cause and manner of death will be determined after a post-mortem exam.
I purposely did not post it as it was unconfirmed, but now that the body portion has been proven true, I feel passing along the part about the brother and brother's friend being suspects might be more credible.
Thanks. It also lends credence to the story of Jenkins’ brothers behavior attempting to get on a flight out of Newark last night.
and I’ll first say that this is awful regardless of what happened.
Seeing this thread my first thought was “I wonder how many idiot posters comment about how this looks bad for Jenkins?” Sad, but it delivered as usual.
behind saying “it’s stupid to say this doesn’t look good for Jenkins,” because obviously he was in Florida and he was not involved with whatever happened.
But seriously, OF COURSE it’s not good for Jenkins no matter who did what and when. A dead body was found in his house. That is horrible. It does not look good for Jenkins-and that doesn’t mean he did something wrong at all. This sucks for him. I’m not saying he’s going to get cut or he was involved or he kept the wrong people close to him etc... but it doesn’t look good for him because it’s not good for him. This is awful.

It's not good for anyone if someone was murdered but if someone breaks into your home and kills a house guest then you'd have a dead body in your home but no one would say it's a bad look for you.
Let's wait until we know more. If the facts reflect badly on Jenkins then we can say so at that time.
Regardless of what the police determine you know that Rodger Goddell who thinks he is the King of the World will launch his own investigation. Seriously if Jenkins had anything to do with it do you think he would leave the dead body at his house?

Or if he hired someone to wack a guy, that he'd arrange for it to be done in his basement?

Football players have done dumber things. Nothing would surprise me at this point.
Seem more concerned about how this tragedy will impact the Giants than the actual incident
Not judging, because I have those same thoughts.
But it reinforces the distraction and escape from some serious issues that sports represent for many of us sports fans
I like most of you feel badly when I read or hear things like this, but move on quickly.
I pray for the family to get through this ordeal, and at the same time hope Jenkins can still play and at a high level.
Sometimes you have to compartmentalism, it s just the way it is.
Not posting to reveal things you already know, just sharing how these things impact me, and that the shallowness it seems to reflect is more the norm than we might suspect.
and he said folks in the neighborhood told him that people stay at the house all the time when Jackrabbit is out of town. I have to think this happened without his knowledge.
I can't imagine anyone-no matter how dumb-killing someone, leaving the body at their house, & flying down to Florida. Come on.
OJ allegedly kind of did that. And, he got away with it. He "allegedly" killed his ex-wife and Ron Goldman at his ex-wife's house, left the bodies there and flew to Chicago a few hours later. Not saying Janoris did that, but murder is an irrational act, so because you would act rationally does not mean someone who committed a murder did as well.
FYI: I use the word allegedly because my goal is not to spark a debate about whether OJ did it or not, my point is that common/rational sense doesn't always work this way with people who commit irrational acts.
Is regardless of legal issues, which hopefully will be negligible, how will a brother's suicide in his house affect Janoris?
It wasn’t his brother! The name of the man was Roosevelt Rene, a family friend.
I mean, I'm pretty sure Jay's saying, from a human being standpoint of someone losing a person they consider a brother to suicide, in their own home no less, that it may affect him mentally and/or emotionally. Don't get caught up on semantics.

Huh? There was speculation it was his brother. It wasn't. No semantics involved.

How do you know Jenkins considered this guy a "brother"? What article to did you read that in?

Of the articles written, they've mentioned that he's a "family friend," they produced music together, the fella was living in his home, was at an airport claiming to be his brother, and the neighbors confirmed as much. Just using context clues that they were close.

The guy claimed to be Janoris's brother but is not. He was the guy who tried to get on the plane, therefore he died between then and 10 am yesterday when the cleaning lady found him. Janoris was in Florida the whole time. Unless he hired the person to kill him he has nothing to do with it.
He said Jenkins’ brother is a person of interest in the death of Rene. Both men lived at Jenkins’ house at times. Rene was a music producer that recorded at least one rap song for Jenkins under his MC name Rabbit.
I can think of a few scenarios that would be bad for Jenkins as I’m sure we all could.

Yup. Eli's always in trouble with the law and somehow gets away with it. Alternate between Webb & Lauletta until the battle is won.

it's being investigated as a strangulation/suffocation homicide
bad stuff.
Wouldn’t this not be the initial investigation path for a body found hanging. They wouldn’t rule it a suicide prior to an autopsy, right?

Stop.

How so if he’s not involved? Obviously we don’t know that yet but he’s been in Florida since camp broke.
Or is this the same as your “Macadoo will be back” schtick from last year.
Given the information so far please explain how so?
Very strong. Wouldn’t be BBI without it
everything bad seems to come from florida.

They Just may have got it wrong. Lot of moving parts.

....It appears from social media that Rene AKA Trypps Beatz
looks like they were possibly associated through music.
Or if he hired someone to wack a guy, that he'd arrange for it to be done in his basement?

Well we just have to move on at this point. He suxes but we could probably get two 1st rd and a 2nd rd pick for him even though he suxes so bad
Or if he hired someone to wack a guy, that he'd arrange for it to be done in his basement?
That kind of stuff would never happen in New Jersey
