NFT: D.B. Cooper= Robert Rackstraw?

DanMetroMan : 6/28/2018 11:52 am
The infamous skyjacker known as D.B. Cooper revealed his real identity to The Oregonian in March 1972, just a few months after he parachuted from Northwest Orient Flight 305 and disappeared.

That's the conclusion of a longtime Cooper-case researcher who recently examined the letter with a former Army code-breaker.

For the past couple of years, TV producer Thomas Colbert has been trying to convince the FBI that he and his team of retired law-enforcement and military officers have figured out who Cooper is -- a former paratrooper and Vietnam War veteran named Robert Rackstraw.

Colbert is the author of the 2016 book "The Last Master Outlaw," in which he lays out his evidence against Rackstraw, and producer of the History Channel documentary "D.B. Cooper: Case Closed."

Has an outstanding podcast on the DB Cooper hijacking.

Most interesting was their review of all the suspects through the years. There were multiple guys who had elements of suspicion. Each was unusual and nicely demonstrates that nobody would ever be found "beyond reasonable doubt"
I imagine the FBI

loves hearing all these amateur detective theories especially when they're tied into a TV show or book deal. Not singling this one out but some of these things are just about the $$$ and if they can say they've met with the FBI it can be a nice boost to the ratings or sales.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching a lot of these things but not sure it's the best use of the FBI's time.

was the flight attendant, who spent the most time with suspect, said Rackstraw wasn't the guy. When the main witness says no, you don't have much of a case.
