Jim in NH : 6/28/2018 3:53 pm
This is the first Giants season since 1925 - i.e., the first and only Giants season - that my Dad, who brought me to my first game in 1956, won't be here to watch his team and to share the excitement.

He was one of the first, and one of the best, Giants fans ever.

Rest in peace, Dad. We will watch the G-men this year, but, man - it won't be the same.

Sorry for your loss, losing a parent always sucks. My mother passed the love of the Giants on to me and I have found that there is no better way to remember/honor her than by watching the G-Men. Have your dad's favorite drink on hand for Sunday. Make his favorite meal on the days of big games. The Giants family is eternal.
Very sorry for your loss, Jim...

You’re right, the games will be a little bittersweet this year. The season after my father died was 2007. I’m not a super-spiritual person, but my dad was there with us all season. I have no doubt.

Watching the team will be good for you, help keep your relationship alive.

Meanwhile, take good care of yourself.
Condolences Jim

It was the championship game as I was home from college on Christmas break.

We attended the final three '58 games too. What a show!

My dad died on Dec. 26, 1974 at age 69. I miss him still.

Been there too. Lost my Dad 8 years ago and my sister who contributed here at BBI on his behalf died 3 years ago. Both were vocal Giant fans dressed in Blue for every game. Her husband and I watch the games together whenever possible and still feel the room is empty without them.

Lost my Dad 3 months after the 1986 Super Bowl victory, our first. I like the think it was a give from God that I got to enjoy that with him before he passed. We suffered for 20 years prior over the Giants.
So sorry, Jim. I too lost my dad this year.

I think about this everyday as my Dad gets older. No clue how I will watch when he is gone, let alone how you will. Pass on what he taught you as a Giants fan to your family, is all I can say to hope you feel a little better today vs yesterday.

Big Blue for life.
