NFT: Netflix Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2?

Gordo : 6/29/2018 10:37 am
anybody finish season 2? I just wrapped it up lastnight. Has to be one of the best seasons yet for the Netflix Marvel series. Lots of crossovers and playing off of the Defenders. Really like where this one is headed, especially after the terrible second season of Jessica Jones.

Loved the Jamaican story line and Bushmaster's Story. I thought Alfre Woodard was amazing and should be in the early running for an Emmy.

Loved how the Music was sown through the entire series. Really an awesome ride throughout. Don't want to give away too much else.

Thoughts?
On ep 2

my enthusiasm has been tempered by Iron Fist, The Defenders, and the first Luke Cage. Didn't really like either of them too much. Glad to hear the 2nd Luke Cage is a good one, loved the first Jessica Jones, and thought the Punisher was great.

Did you like Luke Cage Season 1? I ask because I thought it was such a steaming pile of dog shit that I was angry I wasted time watching it. I like the concept of Luke Cage and think the actor has the "look" but thought it acting/scripting was awful.
I thought it was great.

Maybe a little to long but that's about it.

Loved the ending to the season.

The Iron Fist episode gave me hope for the second season of it.
Season 1 was meh

that was probably the hardest thing about season 2 was remembering what happened in Season 1 because they do reference a lot of stuff that goes on in Season 1, like the Candace Miller stuff, and the whole Shades dude.

I found Misty was really annoying in Season 1, this season I really liked her character. She has a chip on her shoulder and is a lot more human than she was perceived in season 1.
I'm halfway through Season 2.

It is okay so far. But how many times can he throw someone in the air and have them get knocked out?
I just finished Season 1 last night

Was a bit disappointed by the ending, just seemed to be a lot of tension that didn't really end with a bang in any way. Overall it was alright, nothing special but I did find myself wanting to watch the next episode. Glad to hear Season 2 may take the next step.

I watched the Defenders before any of the individual series, which I know makes no sense, but just wanted something to watch. I actually really enjoyed it and hence going back to the stand alone now. At some point want to watch Jessica Jones and Daredevil, but all I hear, Iron Fist isn't worth the time.
I think this was the best season

of any of the shows so far, even with all the Godfather references.
We watched the first three episodes

This season is very meh so far. I am not a big fan of Theo Rossi's acting performance as Shades. I think Neflix needs to combine more heroes into these shows as Marvel has done with the MCU. I am not suggesting that all the defenders should be in every series but incorporating one for a few episodes would make it more interesting especially since they all live in the same city.
I think any time you want to raise the level of a super hero
robbieballs2003 : 6/29/2018 10:47 pm : link
you have to raise the level of the villain. The more evil, sadistic the villain the better the show. I'd love for Netflix to center a show around a villain to build up the rest of these hero characters.
For season 2 is he a full fledge comic

hero or like my buddy says from the 70's comics "hero for hire"? Hopefully something bigger than just a Harlem guy.

I enjoyed it

have to agree on Theo Rossi's character. That was some pretty bad acting... weird because I thought he was much better in SoA.
