I liked his approach all night and even though he was punched out on a ball he never hung his head. Came back with some nice AB's and his swing looks like it's coming around.
They're up 7 runs. He needs to get straightened out and up by this much is the perfect time for him to get in there. Plus with Gray going tomorrow why use anyone else who might be needed tomorrow?
At least he can hold a 7 run lead. So, that's something to build off of, I suppose.
Yeah but the thing is he is still on the team. Who would you have rathered they pitched there?
I'm sure if it was a tight game or big spot, he wouldn't have been in there but this was a perfect spot to use him. Now the rest of the pen is available for tomorrow and Sunday. No sense blowing one of those guys in a spot like that.
RE: RE: I still don't get why Shreve is even still with the team, but whatever Â

I agree that if he's going to stay on the team, a 7 run lead is where you feel comfortable with putting him out there. Glad he was able to do the job tonight...finally.
the moment Drury gets called up. Competition on this squad is fierce
Who knows, maybe you’re right. Every time Frazier comes up, Hicks seems to hit better. I’ll take it
Yeah it could be that but who knows? It does seem like he needs 100 AB's every year to get going and he's close to that now so maybe Drury here is just a coincidence for Bird getting going tonight. Maybe it was a little kick in the ass too but whatever it was, I'll take it.
Yup but as long as it doesn't affect his catching I can deal with that. We have enough O to cover for his bat.
Great game by the big fella. Just the performance we needed to start this series.
Got that one!
That did suck
Hah....no doubt
Haha. Post of the thread!
Agreed on both.

Ah come on, everything can't go right tonight...

Why not?

Great win!
well, not
A very manageable 2:42
Less than 3 hrs!
