NFT: Car Problems: Issue with A/C is Driving Me Nuts!!

I have a 2013 Chevy Avalanche that has had an issue with the A/C for over a year now. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer on 3 separate occasions and recently to a local mechanic twice. No one can seem to get the issue resolved.

When the A/C is on, I will hear a cross between feedback & whistling typically when stressing the engine (accelerating while driving). This only happens when the A/C is on. I do not hear this when the heat is on or if the climate control is completely off. Both times dealer/private mechanic performed a dye test, both times leaks were found. So several new lines, o-rings, pulley replacement, coolant recharges, and most recently a new condenser later I am still hearing the noise. The only thing they haven't changed is the compressor which seems to be operating as intended.

I will say each time I take it in, the noise becomes less noticeable...but then it gets worse to the point I cannot take it anymore and take it back in. This makes me think coolant is still leaking and the noise intensifies as the coolant pressure/levels decrease.

The vehicle is off warranty. I don't what this to continue to be a treasure expedition for my mechanic or the dealer. Anyone ever encounter such an issue? Could it be a leak somewhere where it would be difficult to pick up the dye? Perhaps somewhere near the vents behind in the dash? What else could it possibly be other than a leak since I never hear it unless the A/C is on? Any tips/experiences or guidance would be appreciated. I just paid the damn thing off and it hasn't even broke 50K and I do not want to trade it in!!! :-)

I googled your problem and there is a message board called chevyavalanchefanclub.com and you might get better results there
I’m trying multiple sites

Hoping to get a nibble. Would have the same system as a Silverado Tahoe or Suburban. Even if not a GM possible similar issue with a different make. It’s really driving me nuts.
Just for shits and giggles

turn on your AC when the nose happens shoot some WD40 between the compressor pully and the compressor and see if the noise goes away temporarily. Sounds like it might be a bad pulley.
I know a guy in Pequannock

that can fix anything. He's a top notch mechanic. I'll eat my hat if he can't fix your problem.

If you haven't contacted a

regional rep from Chevy try to do so. You'd be amazed that you might get help and maybe get relief from paying for this. Sounds weird that multiple mechanics cannot fix this. It does sound like either a pulley or maybe a stuck damper in the dash.
Or maybe, an air leak in the compressor sucking air into the system.
Sounds like compressor to me

If it is only making the noise when AC is on that is when the compressor clutch would be engaging. Idk how much a compressor is for that truck but it might be worth replacing if nobody can figure it out-also year and mileage maybe it is worth calling GM and bitching. Sounds pretty soon for that to happen.
I read it as an issue with AC/DC driving me nuts

I had a friend who had a cassette stuck in his car and he could only listen to that cassette for a while.

I wish it was AC/DC, but it was Re-Ac-tor by Neil Young, famous for the use of a synclavier and a nine minute song ordering a steak.
