Today's starting lineups. Iniesta on the bench and Asensio starting for him. Still can't figure out why David Silva is playing. He's been really bad. Also Nacho getting the start over Carvajal who doesn't seem fully fit. He's been bad also.
Quote:
Espana XI - De Gea, Nacho, Piqué, Ramos, Alba, Busquets, Koke, Asensio, Isco, Silva, Diego Costa
Russia XI - Akinfeev, Fernandes, Kudryashov, Kutepov, Ignasevich, Zhirkov, Samedov, Kuzyaev, Golovin, Zobnin, Dzyuba
I'm not a soccer player because when I get hit in the chin, I grab my chin, not my forehead. I also don't crumple to the ground in pain unless my legs are what get whacked.
That was a bit over the top by Henderson - true - but not nearly the acting chops Nemar has demonstrated throughout this WC.
Yesterday, a Mexican player loved tapped his foot. Neymar had a reaction liked he just stepped on a landmine. Than in the group stage, he got hit on the sideline, sort of hard, and proceeded to go into 10 full body rolls on the ground as if he were being dragged around tied to a horse. Guy is a disgrace to watch at times.
He's making Suarez's act look innocent...

BTW, given what happened at the end of the first half I guess if you get kicked in the balls you DO collapse.
it is the right call, but you see that kind of stuff on every set piece. Hell, Spain had two guys ripped down in the box on a set piece and no call. Also, Kane lost his footing more than being taken down. The Colombian player then rode him down though.

Colombia's been gooning it up all game. They deserved that penalty
Ronaldo to Juve does seem like a really strange and out of character move for them. I don't think the money is a factor, they could easily fund it with many of their players linked to premier league moves. It just seems odd though
If true, then I think the Neymar speculation become a lot more real...
Going to Italy seems the strange part.I would have banked on CR7 setting his sights on MU.

Well that’s something else though. I thought Spain deserved the penalty the other day.
Beautiful, free-flowing soccer. When they're on form they're one of the best sides in the world to watch. But they decided to play with no conscience today without James and are making this look ugly
of the fouls have masked a pretty commanding performance by England, which I did not expect. They've had the better chances, and more surprisingly, Colombia has barely threatened.
Don't discount the possibility of a make up penalty for Colombia Â
Has not made a serious push for Kane. I sort of believe he doesn’t want to leave, but nobody has even tried. Of course Spurs wouldn’t let him for for under £200m.
Service has been generally pretty poor, and there has been no link between defense and attack. The opportunities were there today against an England defense that I still wouldn't fully trust.

That said, I'd have bet my salary on Kane converting. That guy is a great goal scorer.

In one respect: he should have sent a Colombian player off to stop the madness they have turned this match into
John Madden would have called him a player with good hardware, bad software.
Pickford made a remarkable save. That was going in
I use the word "plays" loosely.

He got in for a couple matches and the consensus was that he is not ready for that level of play. Amazing.

I fear for England fans...
